I'm not in hurry to know the location, calendar entry made. I can imagine it's a lot of work to organize a conference, evaluation of offers etc. good luck and thanks for considering the proposals in this thread. : )

The venue looks fantastic from the picture and Having Falkvinge there to speak is icing. I wish badly I didn't live on the other side of the globe right now. Maybe it's time I plan a Eurotrip?

A well setup video link to a few people who might not be able to join in person (Gavin, Jeff, Julian,...) would also be great!

As for detractors: maybe someone from the BVDW (German organization representing interests of companies in the digital world - claiming: "We are the net"). They had a very critical press release back in June, basically warning every consumer in Germany to use Bitcoins because they have the potential to sustainably damage society as a whole.

If you can't find anybody else, maybe even just an articulate (local) economics professor who opposes some of Bitcoins fundamentals.

While we're at it: please have a panel discussion - especially if you find a good detractor! Panel discussions (with a good moderator) are IMHO just the perfect format for such conferences.

Apart from that, I second the suggestion to have a microphone ready for the audience or a moderator repeating their questions and please schedule enough time for Q&A.

I'm really looking forward to this event and its great to see it in such capable hands!

+10, as much as many detractors get it completely wrong, groupthink and memetic inbreeding are a very serious problem with the Bitcoin community.

There are several types of detractors, it depends on what you look for.

Only on the economics side, there are Keynesians, lovers of inflation, and also the goldbugs ("It's backed by nothing!"). Bringing somebody that's for inflation is probably pointless, but high profile goldbugs might be interesting. You may find them around places like the Mises Institute. Hasn't Peter Schiff made these type of criticisms on bitcoin, by the way? He would be very "high profile", maybe even too much expensive since he's a media guy already... but it doesn't hurt asking. ;-)

There's also the technical side. I'd like to see some good technical criticism.

Still confirming conference and hotel deal, decision to unbundle the conference package has caused a few logistical problem we will try and solve.
It's early days, we will have a decision soon.

Offer:

Hotel is now unbundled from the package, we won't be offering accommodation at all but will recommend some hotels where participants can book to stay in the same place as others.

Conference Price:
150 Euro early bird price for registrations up till 24th of September. Payment not due at time of registration.
165 Euro after this date.

Limit of 280 people.

Still awaiting confirmation on the venue but it looks like it will be at The Prague Conference Centre.

Sponsorship is still 10 bitcoins for all registrations up till the 16/09/2011 and then 15 bitcoins.

Due to logistics we are able to offer lower prices for anyone registering or sponsoring early.  So jump online, payment is not due at the time of registration.
