Yes, but what LostDutchman is saying is that we still convert (in our minds) to USD or EUR to give BTC prices. This is because Bitcoin's value has changed very quickly and we as humans can't cope with such unstability.

Well, you and I are almost on the same page!

The problem with crypto is that it cannot be used at 99.9999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999 9999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999 9999999999999999999999% of the merchants or services on the planet so it must be converted to something that is.

I am not seeking to change the World, I am not trying to bring crypto to the masses; I am only and I repeat ONLY trying to make money!

[...]

Regardless of what anyone says, it is really ALL about the money and by "money" I mean dollars, dinars, drachmas, rubles, rupees or pounds fucking sterling.

UNIVERSALLY SPENDABLE STUFF!

My $.02.

Wink

And that almost is where we diverge. I know that currently Bitcoin cannot be used on its own, but I firmly believe that as the system matures and more and more people get to know it, it will become stable and thus will be usable everywhere in the world, and without having to check USD/BTC price every 5 minutes.

I don't seek to change by BTC back into Mexican Pesos, but rather to spend them directly.

An economy based on endless growth is unsustainable.

I'm of the same belief. I think the system will mature and will be more accepted publicly. As someone else has pointed out though, at least immediately, any shops or online stores will likely cash straight back to fiat when they take Bitcoin. So not sure how the price will be affected by more adoption.

it's your choice but personally I don't like the idea and the fact that your daughter will be linked to this name throughout her life, and possibly made fun of at school in the future.

Yeah, buddy. Shouldn't have even thought of that, yet alone posting here. Don't write anything on the internet you're not prepared to get ridiculed.
