I sent a few Bitcoins to my wife's wallet.  I then encrypted my wallet with GPG and stored a copy in a secure location.

I then opened my Bitcoin client and of course a new empty wallet was made.  I then transferred the Bitcoins I stored on my wife's computer back to my wallet.  I did discover I now have a new address and the old one won't work.  I lost .001 Bitcoin testing but I'm guessing I'll get that back when I open my saved wallet.

This worked for me and I hope it'll help someone else.

If you like this post a donation would be nice....  1PhCzA9o1jcwHr7PR4mxea8nJYUJWpKAGb

Besides, It'll drive me crazy trying to figure where it came from.
