My wife is apparently in labor. All bets are off on the timeline. See you when I see you.

FYI, they found out what causes that!

Congratulations. Your review is fine and certainly thorough enough. I particularly liked the included link to your Eligius page (p.s. if you haven't already sign up for the nmc merged mining, its not much but a little extra cash for no extra effort is nice). I first started using Eligius when the pool was at about 1TH I think. Shocking to see how it has grown. When my 1.2TH unit comes in it will be less that 0.1% of the pool ROFL. Welcome to the fun world of bitcoin mining and the 24/7 hamster wheel of upgrades.

<<Full disclosure 1) I am a customer of AMT (but have yet to receiver equipment 2) Biomech and I have been conversing  privately for a few weeks>>

Do they actually have the merged mining up and running?  I tried using it but every time I went back to my 'homepage' it would reset.

I do not suffer fools gladly... "Captain!  We're surrounded!"
I embrace my inner Kool-Aid.

Works for me. You have to go into your page and create a signed message with your merged mining details

Well, my wife already calls her "little bitcoin"....

She hasn't come yet. The labor subsided, and we are on "watch and wait" mode. I'm not a patient man, and my wife makes me look like one. This ain't easy Tongue

I'm gonna shoot some pix here very shortly, plus I now possess a Kill-A-Watt (thanks Vesperwillow!). If starting a project don't bring on full labor, I don't know what will.

Meanwhile, the miner continues to hum away right about it's rated hashrate. Eligius shows it all over the line, Cgminer pretty steady at just above 80. Seems to average around 81 on Eligius. I'm going to try some other pools as time goes by.

Any opinions on:
Bitparking
Bitminter
eclipse never mind, it's Inaba's.
Ghash.io
?

Also, beginning next month I'm gonna have a go at solo mining an alt or two.

Hah, another delay!

Bitparking, no idea, do they still exist?
Bitminter, three thumbs up, highly recommended.
ghash.io, good pool, but please dont, they already have far too much control

True, but the "official release date" is the 18th... (grimace)

Bitparking still exists, but I don't know much about their recent activity. They were the first pool I ever mined on, with a laptop GPU Tongue Didn't make shit. But I wouldn't have anywhere else either. I was just learning.

Be back shortly with some pix.

Almost looks like the cat5 cable goes in that black plug above it, and that there's a cover off.

It's secured. Sits at a weird angle. All the boards are mounted at angles. I think for airflow in the small case. It don't get real hot, and hasn't given any hassle, so I call it "art" Smiley

Almost looks like the cat5 cable goes in that black plug above it, and that there's a cover off.
The black plug is a USB cable going into the TPlink board. The Cat5 actually goes into a plug under the board on the right.

Like I said, it looks odd, but it works. If you follow the link at the top of the post you'll see more images, including some through the top of the case. My lighting wasn't real good, so it's not as crisp as I would like. I'm going to re-shoot with more serious light as soon as I can find the damn serious light! (the joys of packing things where you'll remember them...)

Your Kill-A-Watt is getting used here shortly. On that note, to address one of Puppet's queries, the PSU is a FSP Group model fsp300-60GHS. http://www.fspgroupusa.com/fsp30060ghs80/p/606.html

I also have a question for the seasoned miners, or at least Eligius users. Why does my indicated hashrate jump around so much over the short term? It doesn't in Cgminer. It various maybe 1-3 GH/s overall, but on Eligius it's as much as ten both ways. It seems to average out just above 80 most of the time over three hours.. is this a connection thing?

Puppet wins this round. It's drawing 146 watts. Still pretty good, but not 80.

Well, I'm trying to overvolt it a bit now. So far the results on that are a bit odd, and disappointing. Of course, I really don't know what I'm doing, and don't want to kill the machine...

Does anyone of you nice people know how hot (voltage) I can run the bitfury chips without letting the smoke out? I went from 900mv to 920, and it raised it about 2-3 GH/s avg at first, now it's back down around 80-81 consistent with spikes up to about 90. Pulling about 15 more watts. I'd like to kick it up a bit higher. Also, what should I set frequency at? It's defaults are frequency 540 and 900mv. I left frequency alone, as I haven't a clue what it's supposed to do.

BTW, I was wrong about their being a Pi in the beast. It's a tplink openwrt router with the Hexminer/cgminer firmware flashed in. The interface is simple as hell, but no docs.

Really? 900 was how it came to me. I just kicked it down to 880, will see how that does. Thanks, Martin. Didn't know you were watching Smiley

Is there docs for these someplace? The search function on this forum is... retarded. It misses things I was just reading.
