It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

After a week my merit thread in the Spanish forum is empty. Apparently it did not get much attention. I end up giving most merit to a few users that are really willing to make some contribution to the forum, but there is a vast majority that don't seem interested in meriting.

To be honest, that is not necessarily bad I guess.

I'm a bit disappointed, but some of the problem seem to stem from the exam period in colleges. I think several members are concentrating on passing, and that is probably the correct decision. I'll post a few bits over the next few days, and if it doesn't pick up, I might do a bit of recruiting on Steemit.

One of the reasons I created the Source blog was to do a bit of cross-project promotion, and if the Source works out, then I'll start adding some links.

On a personal level, I'll start pushing some domain name sales. I've just been told that I've given away a new Ferrari by underselling a name. Smiley
I'm also interested in the idea of urban mining for Bitcoin, and I put a template on a site to discuss that - http://easybitcoinmining.com/ I haven't put any content on it yet, but I'll add bits and pieces as I find time ( and inclination ).

btw - what happened to the guy who signed up and was going to submit a post in Portuguese?

First post in a thread started by Gothorum - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3793866.0

People are increasingly interested in knowing the world of bitcoin, an example of this is that the number of conferences that are given is increasing, and not only that, but to the conferences more and more people attend, soon it is celebrated one in New York, under the title Consensus of CoinDesk, is expected to attend more than 4,000 people, and eye, as they publish, the entrance costs 2,000 dollars, so it will raise no less than 8 million dollars, obviously, nobody Pay an entry like this if you are not really interested.

The truth is that the price of the entry seems abusive, and against the basis of the cryptocurrency, I mean, that if this was created to eradicate a little social differences, now it turns out that these people take advantage of the pull to return to mark social differences. But it is that this event is not unique, there are scheduled 20 more at least and many of them with a price per ticket similar to this.

Eye, I think it's great that there are more and more conferences, that goes in favor of bitcoin, but is it really necessary to charge those prices?

Translated by Google as an example post - please do not use Google for your posts.
Note that I replaced the post title with a translation of the thread title.

Jet, don´t worry about Gothrum, he or she is getting plenty of merit, because I normally find a meritable post from him (or she) every two or three days.

Are you saying I should create an alt, and join a bounty then?

Anyway it's time to try to revive this project. Some of the previous pasrticipants seem to have received a shed load of merits from their entries. I don't think the guys realise that the 5 merits that I offer is just the start. Other merit awarders seem to pitch in and increase the rewards. Should I focus on a specific country? Nauru has a population of 13,000, would that be a good start?

You haven't yet?  Grin In your case I think that you time is better spent hoarding digital valuables, since you seem to have good skills at it.

Domain names are digital values.

btw I've just installed the teams plugin on Fit to Talk, and the first one is for the Spanish community. I'm not sure how this works at the moment. It may be just a simple announcement board.

Yes, "valuables" is probably not a great term. Digital assets perhaps, it is a respectable trade and I assume profitable too.

I should drop by a take a look sometime.
