I released a BTC/SLD exchange called solidcoin24 (www.solidcoin24.com).
I tried to make the service a bit more newbie-friendly and easier to use for people who have no trading experience yet (e.g. I added confirmations and explanations to most trading actions). I hope this will help get Solidcoin more popular.
Also, the trading completition approach is slightly different. While most exchanges require you to give a buy-target and an upper limit for what you want to spend, my exchange requires you to give a lower limit for the amount you want to get and a fixed spend amount.

Example:
You have 10 BTC and want as many SLC as possible.

In most exchanges you would have to chose a certain exchange rate and if you are lucky, the order is completed and you have some BTC left. Then, you would place a new order to spend the remaining BTC and repeat over and over until you spent all your BTC.

At solidcoin24.com you can place an offer like this:
I offer: 10 BTC, I demand: at least 500 SLC
solidcoin24 will then try to buy as many SLC as possible, until all 10 BTC are spent.

Another feature are 'atomic' trades:
They are invisible, indivisible and will only be completed if they can be completed at once. So they don't influence the market until the order is completed. They also don't appear in the ask/buy list (that's why they're invisible).
I introduced this feature because I wanted to avoid a certain trading behaviour: Some people, including me, don't want to place an order and leave it there for a longer time.

Example:
I want to sell my 5,000 SLC for a nice amount of BTC, but I can wait.
If I place an order (5,000 SLC is quite much currently, comparable to, say, 10,000 BTC in terms of market influence) other people will see a huge sell wall. What they think is "Oh no, there's a huge sell wall, the price won't go up anytime soon". This is exactly what you want to avoid because the exchange rate is likely to go down or at least unlikely reach your rate. Solution: invisible atomic trades.

Everybody who signs up will get a free Solidcoin (that's 0.015 BTC) to toy with. (50 users have been reached)

So please try it out and tell me what you think  Smiley

Hm... MySolidcoin...

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, GOD FUCKING DAMNIT BRUCE!!

Just kidding. MyBitcoin didn't fool me.

But in all seriousness... Well, if you'll pardon my bluntness, why in the hell did you name your site so similar to what was probably the largest fraud and scam in cryptocurrency history?

LOL agreed. Bad naming really, unless it's a clever troll designed for humour. In which case, good work.

You are right. Corrected.

As for the naming:
First of all it is an exchange, not an ewallet. Don't store too large amounts of BTC/SLC there anyway.
I know I have to earn trust and I am willing to do so. (Honestly, if I had planned to scam you I would've chosen another name, wouldn't I?)
I just think that mysolidcoin (like mybitcoin) are nice names and it's a shame that they were dragged through the mire (at least mybitcoin). Hopefully my service can convince nonetheless and when you hear "mysolidcoin" you'll think of a nice service instead of a big scam.

I honestly think it's somewhat unfortunate that human nature and the operation of human memory is such that two things can be instinctively linked in a negative way by the human brain simply due to a shared grammatical structure...

But given that it is human nature to link things that way, I gotta tell you...

You've got some huge brass balls being willing to give a serious go at the name. Smiley

You're probably right. I am already thinking of renaming the exchange.
I could've thought of that before  Sad

I see that many of you connect bad memories with any myXYZcoin called site.
Therefore I decided to rename the exchange service to solidcoin24.
I hope this name is clean  Wink

Is there anyway you can fix the site to exchange between solidcoin, ixcoin, iocoin, namecoin,  and bitcoin.  bitcoin could be used as the main coin to trade, but why be prejudice against the other coins?  bitparking is a pain because you have to have a different account for the the different coins.

You have no SSL. I are currently sending users passwords via plain-text.  You should take your site down until you can sort that out because you are putting your users security at risk.

I do have SSL I just do not enforce it.
If users chose to send API requests through http (e.g. to pull down market data) they are free to do so.

I wouldn't let them be free to do so, in the financial world you need to be cognizant of the liklihood of getting oblivious users and it is a simple fix just redirect http requests to https and the end user would be none the wiser :-D

Probably true. solidcoin24 now only accepts https, no more http.
Thanks for all the suggestions/corrections btw.

Redirecting to the https version can be problematic too since any authentication cookie will have been sent in the clear on the initial http request. Hopefully the exchange has marked the cookies to only be used on https connections and not http connections.

I just assured that this is the case.
But even if it was not the case it's still better than communicating without any encryption. All an eavesdropper could get is the session id which becomes invalid after some time. So any hacker would have to be much faster in order to hack an account than if they knew the user password and email.

Sorry, but you can't withdraw Bitcoins without having deposited anything before.

Great, one can deposit BTCs there, but then they're hijacked. The "without having deposited anything before" is really a foobared statement.

Why the frell so many retards spell "ect" as an abbreviation of "Et Cetera"? "ETC", DAMMIT! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Et_cetera

As a welcome present you probably got 5 or 1 SLC, right? Then you probably changed them to BTC and wanted to withdraw them. Please understand that by giving out free SLC I wanted people to encourage using and testing the exchange. This includes depositing. If you want to withdraw your BTC or SLC, you can deposit 0.00000001 SLC and withdraw anything you have afterwards.

And how is it foobared? I think it's quite reasonable that withdrawing without having deposited anything before is not possible.

So what do you accuse me of exactly?

To be honest, I was really hoping that solidcoin24 guys can get more clients after mooncoin fiasco. At least their site is not full of calculation errors. But looks like they are sleeping or just picking their noses.

Chop-chop, wake up! Lets get some trading going!

It appears that BTC withdrawals are currently broken.  After confirming the withdrawal, a page with no content is displayed and no BTC are sent or deducted.
