Hi guys, I'm a newbie and I've got some problems that prevent me from begining my mining career.

I can't seem to get poclbm to start mining. It closes immediatley after it starts.
First I tried mining in the BTC Guild pool, but couldn't make it work. Then I found this video guide and after failing to fix the problem on my own I decided to change to the Deep Bit pool so that I would follow the video as closely as possible, but the problem still persists. I then tried editing the bat file I made and puttting the text from the Deep Bit Help page into it, but poclbm still just flashes.
Of course I changed the example username and password to the one I assigned to my new worker and added --worksize 128 because I read somewhere that it is optimal for my Radeon 5770, but nothing seems to work.

Oh I almost forgot. I'm using a Win 7 x32 operating system with AMD's 11.7 driver and the SDK included with it.

Can anyone please help me?

Thanks in advance
Alexander

have you tried opening a shell (cmd.exe) change to the directory where poclbm is installed and start it with the required parameters from there. When an error happens, you will see the output of the program right in the shell and can either try to solve it, or send it here, otherwise it is quite difficult to help ...

Have you tried GUIminer yet? Its user-friendly when it comes to mining for the first time.
