this coin is no where near to go into an exchange. First you will need a demand. Don't worry about exchanges, worry about exposure. This is a solid coin. It has no premise and it limited.  you can sell this vey well. again, join up in an exchange will not help. the only people interested in this coins is the ones who have mined here. once this coin hits an exchange now , all of the holders will dump it. the only problem is that there is no one to buy. the coin will die. fast.

how about you all come together and starts marketing this. for fucks sakes its been here for few days, hows gonna pay money for 3 pages of hype and 1ooo pages of complain

I agree with bitwho.. We need to market the shit out of this as a community. With that in mind, let's help the devs out and start posting marketing ideas!

First idea then: we should all email the big crypto covering news sites with info on the coin and asking them to do a story.. Question is who should we contact?

What, do we start running around with pickaxes?

It's not easy to "market" a coin, especially a not-so-innovative coin. We can play on the "gold rush" theme, or on the limited supply, but honestly, I don't see an average Joe picking it up. It's not like Doge, which was so blissfully stupid it actually took off, or Coinye, which played on being the possibly first coin to get a cease-and-desist, it's just... kinda bland.

Hi Everyone,

Yes we are working on further spreading the word, it is hard sticking out amongst the rest of the alt coins though others have done it with 'bland' coins. The cryptsy vote thread has been put up, whilst premature it shouldn't hurt to keep the votes ticking over. They haven't been adding new coins as they are working on stabilising their platform again, the other idea behind getting traction on cryptsys support pages is to bring more attention to the coin Smiley

Ron paul coin was added to coinedup and picked up traction, theres no reason why this coin can't. The pages of complaining in this thread were about a 3rd party pool, which i believe are largly resolved now. Don't let that detract away from the coin.

We have more to come so sit tight, if you want to help market the coin feel free to do small giveaway threads, post on different forums, tweet and jump on reddit (altcoin subreddit etc).

We can do this!

I don't think there's anything bland about this coin.  It's fast, stable, and growing.  This is going to outperform any of the recent launches, I'm sure.

I love how under the radar this coin is.

We'll break out and when we do everyone will be wishing they were here now.

We're working on some cool things that should bring the coin more mainstream, we'll update once we're closer.

I'm glad to hear it. If you can live up to that, then there's nothing stopping this coin from rocketing. Everything feels right about this coin. No premine, under 20 million total coins and a great name and logo.

Once this hits an exchange it's going to be extremely difficult to mine, and yes, people will be wishing they would have mined it before that happened.

thanks

I should be able to sort this for you later on. In the meantime we have a more recent mac build for you to try:

http://www.klondikecoin.com/downloads/Klondikecoin-Qt.app.zip

Both work on our test mac so i'm not sure what the issue could be. Let me know if you continue to have a problem.

@busabus, we're okay at the moment thanks, keeping this secret as we don't think its been done yet and wouldn't want anyone rushing out what were doing before us Smiley

So the issue with the mac build is that the libraries the app depends on aren't being included in the app package, and the location of those dependencies in the executable still references a hardcoded file path on the machine on which the app was compiled.

If you can push the latest images, etc up to git I can get a working copy compiled for you.

These coins with a block a minute and 24 hour difficulty cycles make me nervous, mass it really easy for a coin to die if a lot of miners decide to go elsewhere while the difficulty is high. Does the developer have any perspective on this issue? Also makes it important to get on an exchange sooner rather than later; people aren't gone to mine on hope forever.

Does the developer have any perspective on this issue? Also makes it important to get on an exchange sooner rather than later; people aren't gone to mine on hope forever.

All coins hash power will fluctuate, i don't believe we will lose enough to cause any real issues as long as we keep on pushing the coin, which we are doing. We have some nice releases lined up to tide us over until we manage to get on an exchange. We also have a C# developer looking at creating a desktop based exchange for us anyway Smiley. We have several talented people working on different projects, one i am particularly excited about but am keeping hush in case it is copied before we get chance to release.

No predictions on Cryptsy, at the moment it looks like they're in the middle of doing upgrades before listing more. As long as we spread the word about the coin and keep the up votes coming on the cryptsy request i can't see us being left out of the next batch, maybe the one after. As long as that comes a little after we have our new features out Smiley

Should prolly also be requesting at CoinEx and CoinedUp -- they are more likely to add Klondike before Cryptsy. Your development teases have piqued my curiousity...
