@nibbloid --> Good plan

@BigRidg7 and @stevenlam I recommend doing the same, I am sure ic.mepool.cc will switch but better to play it safe for now.

Done

Likewise. Thanks for the heads up @TeamICoiN

Just saw some pending... 0.57... cripes... If I could only manage to find some sanely priced mining equipment... sigh... Me and my amazing 40 KH/s. Cry

I seem to be on the right chain now with 5180 blocks.

But https://www.miningpool.co doesn't seem to be getting squat. Been mining in it and turning up zero. Should've gotten a few blocks by now... Sad

Is there a mining pool that is actually getting some blocks?

At the current difficulty - that iCoin is stuck in currently (until the hard fork fixes this issue at block 5200) - and with the pool hash rate of just under 1MH/s it will take on average around 32 hours for the pool to find a block.

The whole network hash rate is currently just a touch over 20MH/s.

{EDIT} So the hashrate on MiningPool.co is now around 9MH/s so estimated average block time should be 3 Hours 21 Minutes 39.5 Seconds  Smiley

Just got to hang in there and get to 5200!

Hanging in... Sigh... Was hoping for a bit of a break jumping in early with crappy CPU mining... No such luck I guess.

Thanks for sparing early believers miners that mined the hard way  Smiley

what the total amount icoins to be released ?

There will be 500 million coins in total but being released at a slower rate then similar supply coins like feathercoin +- 330mil

We wanted to maintain coin value but also make sure supply would be streaming in for years to come. This allows us to grow iCoin with supply rate
instead of flooding the market and killing off the coin before it has a chance.

Looks like we were solo mining on completely different block chain, that's why the difficulty was very low...

Will be removing these 2 pools as options at 5195.

2. http://ic.mepool.cc/ (1% fee)
3. http://icoin.pool.digiraha.ee (1% fee, vardiff 16-1024)

I have put up a post looking for new pools.

Gotta love our design team.

If you're mining without a blockchain downloaded, you'll get truckloads of blocks... none of which are attached to a blockchain other than your own personal meaningless blockchain.

When you replace your meaningless blockchain with the blockchain that everyone uses... POOF~! There goes all your previous meaningless mining.

I've done that before by accident. (I forget which coin I was mining... blockchain wouldn't update and I had TONNES of blocks - got really excited for nothing.)

Now, I don't know if this is exactly the same situation as what you had there, but I've done it before, and it might help explain what happened for you.

Gotta love our design team.

Definitely! Most new coins have zero design... just pathetic... If they can't take the time to have some kind of sane presentation, then they're on pretty shaky ground already. It's the reason I jumped on top of iCoin immediately - you guys took the time to have some nice presentation. Shows that you're organised and give a shit about your coin. Wink

What I did is downloading a client 1.2 and started solo mining. Didn't have a previous client. The updated blockchain issue was raised only a few hours ago

I have mailed a couple of other reliable pool operators to add the coin.

Team thought it was better for you to do the mining post. Wink

Will the diff reset at block 5200 ?

I am currently mining through the http://icoin.altpool.pw:19360/ pool to get us to that block, but although I can see payout on the site I am not receiving them ... does anyone know what the normal wait time should be ?

Hey Jay,

Diff will go down and transactions confirmed a lot faster. The pool owner will have to confirm the payout settings .
