Even disregarding any potentially crackpot people talking to aliens to warn us, I believe it is possible that our sun is actually not the only star in our solar system. In fact single-star systems are the rarity in the universe. It is possible that there is a dwarf star orbiting our sun (or, they orbit each other actually). It only comes around every X thousand years, which happen to coincide with massive historic cataclysmic changes on Earth. Here's some more reading on it  Wikipedia - Nemesis (hypothetical star) |

Sure, and the star has what, cloaking capability? Is a stealth star? Someone mounted an invisiblity generator on it? Cause uh it's a bit HARD to hide a STAR in the universe... it's coming in 1 year? Nice and now where it is? It's relaxing in another dimension and will teleport here in 2012?
