Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

Can anyone share some insight on the setup?

I am truly desperate at this point.
I set up my router to the ip range 192.168.0.x, after having changed the adapter settings of my lan card to multiple other popular ranges and scanning the network, still no sign of the unit,
although i see the lan-port flickering on my router / switch that are connected to the device.

My device has the number 87 on the side, i tried 197.168.0.87

Any help would be appreciated. I already checked that the rasperry pi in the device is plugged in properly etc, i even put in another sd card and it started up fine.

I am not a newbie when it comes to setting up miners/networks but this one seems unreachable...

Edit:

I put the sdcard into another pi and connected it to a screen via hdmi. (I didn´t plug in the connetion cable to the device)

It says it is unable to mount the partition, does that mean the OS is damaged and i need to get a new image from somewhere?
("No filesystem could mount root, tried ext4")

Thanks, i already tried that (in fact that was the first thing i tried, both via web interface and ssh, no device reached.

Also, the first time i turned it on (without connection), the fans only turned gently.
Now the fans turn full throttle all the time, although it is not mining. In my opinion that is another hint for a damaged operating system? ---> no fan input---> fans go full throttle?

I also tried scanning the ip range 192.168.0.xx, no new devices there, router doesn´t show any new devices either.

Has anyone got a download link for the firmware so i can try on another sdcard? I really think the sdcard is damaged.

use this image for the miner
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/92967009/dragon_image.7z
use this program to insert image in sd
http://sourceforge.net/projects/win32diskimager/

This image is from ltek miners, but it works 100% on these miners, i´ve tried it myself

The ip should be 192.168.1.163 if i remember correctly

Yes, router etc. was setup correctly, i am sure of it.
I had connection to other devices on the ip-range too, and scanned the whole range just to be certain.

I also connected directly and again scanned the whole range, nothing.

Now i tried your image, however when i click on the stats page it gives me this:
Quote
Error getting device list: ERR: socket connect(0) failed. I checked before and thought every board was properly connected.
and
Error getting version for 127.0.0.1:4028 ERR: socket connect(127.0.0.1:4028) failed

This seems to be an error when the pool connection is not yet achieved.

I am now certain that all network settings are correct, as the device can ping any website without problem.

Edit: Its ALIVE! (muahaha) dont really know what i did to make it work though, it seems as though it will only take pool settings when you´re lucky Wink

... atleast with the dragonminer firmware. Got a good 1th though, so thats nice.
