Can't login to this miner.  Tried to direct connect with a PC and put it on both 192.168.1.1 and 192.168.0.1 network, but I'm unable to scan the miner using Angry IP Scanner.

Is there a step I'm missing, do I have to do anything with the Raspberry Pi before I try logging in?

I think it's on a different subnet like mine was. I couldn't find it on my network so I reimaged the SD which defaults back to 192.168.1.134.

Unlike traditional banking where clients have only a few account numbers, with Bitcoin people can create an unlimited number of accounts (addresses). This can be used to easily track payments, and it improves anonymity.

Why dont you try the dragon image?

So I downloaded Win32Disk Imager and selected the dragonboot-4BLADE-ENG.img on the E drive or SD slot of my PC.

I clicked Write, now it's going through but really slowly.

Does it matter that the 8GB SD Card only shows 7.42 GB in Windows after formatting it, since the Dragon image is 7.76 GB?

Or does that not matter when using this utility?

I discovered not too long ago that 8GB cards come in different sizes at their upper limit Sad Some SD's can fit images, some can't. Ended up just getting 16GB cards to play it safe.

Gotcha.  I actually let the win32disk imager run overnight pretty much, just to see if it would fit.

When I checked it this morning, it said complete.  So I popped it back into the RaspPi, plugged it into the miner, powered on the unit, and was able to finally discover it using Advanced IP Scanner(Default Dragon IP is 192.168.1.134).

Thanks for all your help guys!!!

...to say the least.  Heck, the price on the thread title itself is inconsistent; it depends on which post/page you're reading.

Figured out all the technical quibbles(downloading the right image, re-imaging SD card, Advanced Ip scanner, setting pool info etc), now for the showoff:

Well packed, like a mummy's tomb.  Yellow tape everywhere!

Dusty fans!  Either extensive "burn in tests" or....

No display.  Black bare bones case, tons of screws everywhere.  White label says "0.204", but that was incorrect IP.

All internal!  Generic PSU, no brand name markings anywhere.  My guess 1100W or so.

Close up of the controller board and Raspberry Pi with 8 GB SD card which I had to re-image with Dragon image

All in all, it's hashing away at it's proposed rate on the Dragon interface:

Quote
Running Log:
(5s):1.013T (avg):1.013Th/s | A:390144 R:1024 HW:48 WU:16.4/m

Gotta tweak it though, tons of errors and can't quite get it up to the 950-1000 GH/s at the pool side probably because of all the errors.  High 800's so far, but that's before changing any frequency settings.

I'll look over Finlof's tweak guide suggestions to lower frequency through SSH this weekend perhaps.

For $1500 it's a decent buy.  Probably used a little bit, but I don't plan to run this thing forever.

$1750 is probably little much for this miner, but at the same time still cheaper than the Dragons and S2's.

Can't say anything bad about Bit-tech, they delivered within 4-6 business days, so I left them positive feedback escrowed through OgNasty.

Hope this helps anyone thinking about buying this miner.

Chuck

Thanks for your effort in showing us details of the item.  I only wish the vendor could provide as much details on what they're selling.

Your pictures confirm my concern (based on a fuzzy image posted earlier by the seller) on the location of the RasPi (and controller board) which is right along the path of the hot exhaust airflow of the modules.  Bunching all those cables/wires in the same area don't help either as it would only exacerbate the accumulation of heat by restricting airflow.  Personally, I'd move those cables off to the side and relocate the RPi and the controller board to a cooler area in the case and add "pull" fans on the exhaust grill.

Mine's been hashing fine since I got it a few days ago, but even with tweaking the blade freqs, I can't get over 900GH/s poolside.

Guys, I advise everyone who bought from them to leave feedback on their profile. Write down how good or bad miners are. Only in that way we can get more average image of this manufacturer.

I'm sad to report that my latest delivery never achieves a hash-rate greater than 850GH/s at the pool, despite my best efforts at tuning and troubleshooting Sad

I was informed this is "normal" Sad

Needless to say, I'm unhappy with my latest delivery. Not sure how these cables got frayed like that between the time it left their facilities and was delivered to my doorstep.

At least you guys are getting your miners.  I asked for a tracking number (next day delivery MY ASS) and am getting the run-a-round.

Is there a tracking number for this order yet?  Wasn't it supposed to ship in 24 hours?

-Alex

----
Hi Alex,

This order is taking care by Ali, since he received your Bitcoins on his
personnal account and didn't dispatach it to the company account yet.

Regards,
David

----

And no response from Ali.  Frankly I don't give a fuck who at your company took my payment.  Deliver what I paid for!!!!!!!

Poor business practices at best, maybe even a scam.   We're talking 18.8BTC so if you guys think I am just going to forget you are NUTS.  We'll pull full dox and show up in China to collect.

Sorry for your delays MW.  Hope you get status on your large order soon.

That said it's why I elected to go through OgNasty for his escrow service. He placed the order on my behalf, provided tracking # to me, and withheld funds from Bit-tech until he confirmed that I'd receive the miner.  Just my 2 cents on that.

Unrelated to this, I was able to get the miner to be consistently at 900 GH/s using Finlof's tweak guide.  Played around with the frequencies until I settled on "925" for each of the 4 asics. I'll continue to tweak until I get to 950 GH/s.

Not sure what the stock setup was.  Couldn't login or Advance IP scan it, until I downloaded the Dragon Image and re-imaged the SD card on the Pi with it.  After re-imaging, I could login to the Dragon default ip 192.168.1.134.

Stock Dragon settings for this unit is set to 1000 frequency for each Asic.  Unfortunately, that's overkill for this 4 blade miner, which is really just 4 asic blades overclocked to get to mid 900's GH/s(if you can tweak it just right).  Getting the high speeds on the miner side is easy, it's reducing the errors and rejects so you get a decent hashrate poolside.

If you get your hands on the Bit-tech miner or a Dragon, this should help with changing the frequency of each blade, Finlof's guide:

I take it that it is an improvement from the stock setup.  Can you post a link to Finlof's tweak guide?

Thank you.

I have exactly the same problem like you ! and the worst part is there is total of 4 module on the miners the first model is actually "dummy" module because the first module only connected power cable but no data connection module !

and the seller has no response to my email ! this is consider a hit and run sales !

and i believe they dont expect return customers !

so in this case do you think i wills still buy from them ?

Here is some example of poor quality and nonfunctional product !

Missing module OMG !!!!!

The cable is fried up ! and split into 2 and that why i cannot access to the miner UI

So there are total of 4 hash board end up only 3 is working because the top hash board is missing the data connection cable !
