We also require that the first post is updated! This would be very important!
If the dev does not come back I start to believe that we may have to decide to move to a new thread where the first post is always updated with all the necessary informations:

- website
- Forum / twitter / social
- wallet
- pool
- Exchange, etc ...

Community is vibrant and active, but those who open the thread to the first page see that everything is still for days... what do you think?

If you open a new thread please put it directly under Alternate cryptocurrencies (not to this Announcements subforum).

Also my vote to matrixfighters logo. It is a winner.

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

I agree, and also read the stupidity of the 60 seconds block who has written on fb...  Roll Eyes
I would have preferred that he had written that they now want to pump mtc-shit-coin scam... instead of qbit, that probably is a strong competitor for them.
And as for quarks we do not need their pool, i hate what happened with angelshare/pts now... it's unfair and i don't trust them all.

What happened with "angelshare/pts" ?

I did not like the policy to accept btc donations for angelshare, but this is a purely personal opinion.
However i have a few pts and not sell them, but i would have preferred more honesty from the beginning on the mechanism of the DACs

Yes, I did not like this one as well Smiley

Yes, Received 500 with thanks!  So far you are the only one who sent anything for that logo, although everyone says that they are loving it.  Grin

I would also like to acknowledge that someone has just sent 14,727 Qbit for the website pot, bringing the total to 30,000 so far.  Thanks for that deposit!

I'm sure the web-portal will be to your liking when I put the Beta online in a few weeks.  It's a BIG project, but I'm sure it will increase the profile and value of Qbit substantially from its current price $0.80=1,000 Qbit .  Please join the Qbit reddit and read more and support this project here http://www.reddit.com/r/qubitcoin/comments/1vnrtd/website_fundraiser/

People are manipulating the market right now. Putting buy and sell orders for 1 qbit each to lower the price. Volume is so low it's making it easy.

No. With so few volume there is simple no price. When you can double the price with 1$, than there is no price (although the volume now is a little higher). When you sell now 2$ worth of QBITs, the price would be half relative to the price of the last trade...

Now, the current price of Qbit in my opinion is irrelevant.
What is the real price of a new coin? This is a very difficult question to answer.
The intrinsic value of a coin for me is given mainly by the development of the community. Community is the real value of a new currency (if it is well done and there are no tricks behind, as in our case), at least at the beginning.

The best thing about being listed today is that so many new people can buy cheap qbits, see with their own eyes that is working and fast and will probably decide to follow.
Those who want to earn few $ to get ROI are free to do it, but they maybe regret not having waited a few weeks or months to see themselves listed on cryptsy with a really different exchange ratio. Cheesy
Those who believe in the project will be awarded then, who wants a safe ROI will at least turn the economy of qbit and make it recognize as currency... Wink

I like it, simple and striking. I do not think it is urgent to choose the logo, but it's important that within a few days we have logo + website.

Ok, but first give the author few days to update the first post.
Few pages earlier someone wrote to the author and he answered that he is on holidays and he will be back in february

If you open a new thread please put it directly under Alternate cryptocurrencies (not to this Announcements subforum).

Also my vote to matrixfighters logo. It is a winner.

I do not want to create misunderstanding, i'm not the CEO of QBIT  Grin
I'm a simple miner who believes in the potential of this new coin from the beginning.
Just like all of you i'm waiting for the dev but i'm only thinking about a possible solution if he does not come back.
IF we decide to open a new thread, BEFORE we decide to do together.
However now i would insist to have ASAP logo and website that are more urgent... and in the meantime maybe our dev come back and we will be here all peaceful and happy Smiley

The intrinsic value of a coin for me is given mainly by the development of the community. Community is the real value of a new currency (if it is well done and there are no tricks behind, as in our case), at least at the beginning.

I would say, when there is no real trade with the coin, you can see the price in mining. How much would it cost to mine 1000 QBITs?(elecrticity, hardware, lost profit by mining another coin). That is the price. Why is that so? Because when people think, the price of QBIT is higher, more people would mine it and so it would be more expansive to mine it. When the miners think, the price will be 1Cent per Coin in the future and they can mine with their notebook 4000 a day (40$), they would do it. If they think, it will only be worth 0.01Cent (4000 = 40Cent), they would rather not run theier notebook for the whole day.

And then there are the people who want 100 000 but would need months to get to this number (with unchanging diff). They will pay more than the mining cost.

Don't get me wrong. Prices can change. The current value of Bitcoin is 800$, but many people think, it will go to 10 000$ and more. But the current price is 800$.

I hope I'm not too late for the Qbit logo competition.  I am not a grafix desiner (I'm a coder, web-developer and I'm working on a new Qbit website here), but I would like to suggest this as a CONCEPT.  If other grafix designers want to make it better, or make better variations please go ahead.

My rationalle behind this logo:

  • It must be SIMPLE
  • It must be UNIQUE
  • It must be INSTANTLY RECOGNISABLE
  • It must be so simple that you or anyone should be able to write it with a simple handwriting, like £ or $ or BTC or @ signs.
  • It's in the same style as the "@" symbol, which suggests that this currency is related to the Internet age.  Qbit is The internet money.
  • Colour is RED, because of Feng-Shui ... Red attracts Money.  So I would like this coin to have that kind of blessing and good luck from the start.

Take a pen and a piece of paper and try to write it down with a single continuous movement. Look how easy and unique it is.

Do you Like it?  Gdt52QoTgrg45ktvb98SSH22sfqVLG1yCV

It is really good!
I think that we will perform a second round of voting after a couple of days using new poll. The participants of the second stage will be 4 most voted logos from stage 1 plus your logo.
But here is one more moment. Idea and concept are great but we need  graphics designer to transform it to living logo.

Guys! We need good designer to improve this image to living logo!

Day by day this community makes great job! So current tasks and progress look like:

0. Detailed coin description with all its strong sides. An IDEA which makes this coin DIFFERENT. Guys! We still need IDEAS! First one is that the coin is STRONG.
0.1 Post what you consider a strong side and an IDEA of the QBIT
0.2 Vote for the main IDEA and several strong sides
0.3 Logo. We must have perfect logo Now we have 15! 4 best will be sent to second round!
0.4 Rebuild wallet after logo is chosen
1. Social networks
1.1 Create communities subreddit and facebook ready, google plus and more to go
1.2 Invite friends, increase popularity
1.3 Perform a giveaway/lottery/competition/etc giveaway done!Who can organize lottery in facebook?
2. Site
2.1 Create site. Even a page for the beginning. Page created. Site is under construction.
2.2 Add wiki, forum, etc. Site is under construction.
3. Exchange and so on First exchange started! http://poloniex.com/exchange
