Recently spamming and phishing are being reported frequently. What are the best practices to keep wallet safe?

It is your fault if you fell into the pit of a phishing site, the very best wallet and secure enough is the hardware wallet (ledger or trezor) but, the very best way to make your wallet secure is to be wise not to be fool always.

If you are using a web wallet, bookmark the real website so whenever you visit it, just click it and you don't have to use search engine for it.

This applies for all types of web wallet (MEW, Blockchain.info, etc.)

Or better yet, don't use web wallets. Only use either software wallets or hardware wallets if you're planning on securing your long-term investment funds.
We can't stop everyone from using web wallets so its up to them.

I find it convenient to use hardware wallets and web wallets but comparing myself to others some are reckless and isn't even aware of security.

Keeping your wallet depends on what wallet you use. Tips on keeping your wallet safe are
-Install anti-virus on your computer.
-Put your private key on internet free device such as USB.
-I strongly recommend to bookmark  the websites you access.
Hope it helps

First of all you should buy a hard disk or even a SSD for storing wallets private keys and even wallets applications . I never recommended trezor&ledger because they are expensive and with that money you can buy a ssd/hard and install the applications

A wallet is nothing but just a private key which is required to spend the funds associated with the public key so the best way to keep it safe is never exposing it on the internet (including web wallets or any other program) unless you want to utilise the funds stored in that wallet. I believe that keeping it offline at a safe physical location is the best way to prevent it from the scammers and hackers out there. That's the reason why I have my 95% funds stored in paper + hardware wallets.

Enabling the 2factor authentication is highly recommended  to prevent hackers from stealing your coins. Always becareful , no one can be trusted when money is involve. When somebody gives you link dont click it but rather delete them asap

The golden rule is that you should ensure that your private key are kept safe in a secured place known only to you. Also ensure you double check the site you are visiting for possible phishing attempt and never enter your private key on any site. Lastly, if you have enough money, the best bet is to get a paper wallet or hardware wallet. They are safer than others.

Ensure the website you visit which have your coins is not a phished website by bookmarking the site and also make sure your private key is not accessible to anyone. If you can get a hardwallet then that is better than online wallet.
