Isn't it fairly inaccurate for a little while as the new diff settles in? Meaning by tomorrow sometime it should level out some more..

If you don't know the answer of this question, then you should not be called a miner. Come on guys, don't let the bar drop so low... Just think of what would happen to the difficulty if hypothetically all miners stop hashing tomorrow.

My only point was the next difficulty is an estimate and a larger temporal sample size provides a more accurate estimate but I'll yield you since I might be a moron on this one..

The network adjusts at 2016 blocks, so it would never have a chance to change (evil grin). 'course that would be just about the end of bitcoin, unless all the "full" node clients started hashing again.

I figured the difficulty rise since I started mining oct 18th from the oct 16th diff rise to the last one I think it was 28.6 % if I remember the number correctly as an average per diff increase (9 I think it was) ouch with this next go around will probably top that the next 9 or so diff rises (the fickle finger of fate having f**ke* moves on!) 15,000 TH/s is closest for the last 24 hours. The difficulty just changed so each source is handling that differently. The 18,000 TH/s number is likely a result of calculating the hashrate using the number of blocks solved over the last 24 hours and the current difficulty but the current difficulty started less that 24 hours ago. This isn't accurate as some of those blocks were solved at the previous difficulty level. The 13,000 TH/s number is probably over a longer period of time, like the last 7 days.

Wow... I didn't realize there were so many different Diff estimates, and all so different... How can this be? Many of them are using subpar methodology, http://bitcoinwisdom.com/bitcoin/difficulty is the best by a mile. They hardly miss a percentage or two a week before difficulty adjustment.

There is no way to find out realtime hashrate. It can be only computed backwards from block generation speed and depends on number of blocks chosen to compute from. If somebody turns on his 1 Petahash machine for solo mining for say 20 minutes and doesn't mine a block nobody will notice it

I wonder how long will the difficulty keep increasing exponentially. Manufacturers like Hashfast and Cointerra still working on their product, blackarrow is coming in. The difficulty will only keep skyrocketting once they have stable product output. Who knows what is going on in the background, hashrate increased 50% in just half a month.
It is not wise to invest in mining if you expect to get back the bitcoin you invested. The manufacturers are getting all the edge with the offers they give. Instead of getting investors for r&d, they got all those money from pre-orders with false promises, it is easier to suck money from the masses than from a few. They only sell in limited quantity to gouge the price while in the background they might be building their own farms from the profit they got.
Bitmain is different from most manufacturers with no pre-ordering but still, the consumers are on the bad end of the deal. They sell their miners at price point that they think the miners might roi and I think they profitted a lot from that, their products BOM I believe is just at a fraction of the price they are selling.
Unlike gold shovel, bitcoin shovel can dig by itself.
