Hm, what's up with the massive jump in diff, is Cointerra and/or Hashfast shipping in large quantity?  Does this qualify for releasing more jupiters/etc?

Might not be a bad idea for the network since the whole GHash.io drama went down

Hashfast shipping in large quantity, hahaha.

That was another, what, 26% jump? Get used to it. It's not going to stop any time soon.

Dude the hashrate is about to level out for a bit not, continue growing like this for a while.

Quoted so I'll have something to laugh at after a couple more crazy adjustments.

Remember back 3 months ago, how you said the hashrate was "about to level out"? ROFLMAO! You were sooooo wrong.

User sgravina just said the same thing. It is hard to understand the dude. Just a couple posts back. Two people in a matter of minutes saying the same thing. It's not just me. I don't expect him to be a professional speaker, but he's talking to the world and really should at least try to cut down on his accent if he wants people to understand him fully. I'm still baffled where the hell he got the $70,000 figure from??? Why would they lie publicly like that?

How is that a lie, I just said I've known people who have achieved close to that. If you look through the last few pages of this thread there is another one. I took a quick glance through your old posts, and it is seriously nothing but whining about knc for months. How did you get a first shipment saturn and still not do well? It's just whining and whining.

The first rigs indeed did not make $70,000 and I'll keep that opinion until someone can proove it. I don't see how it is possible. Yea, Bitcoin did reach $1k but it certainly didn't stay there.

FWIW the poor audio quality is not down to me. The stage was amongst all the other exhibits in the main entrance grand hall. The ambient noise at the CES was very, very loud. I could barely hear Brian ask questions and he was next to me. They have scrubbed that audio considerably to remove any background, I can only presume there is a loss of audio w.r.t. myself as well. I can also only assume that's why Tech crunch chose to have their talks in a 'studio' they created in the parking lot outside, and away from the madding crowd so they wouldn't have these audio issues. You can probably imagine how many people attend the event. It's monstrous.

With respect to dumbing down the explanation of Bitcoin, I was asked to. Their audience is green, they were very clear on that, if I couldn't convey a simplistic explanation and have their cameraman have a lightbulb moment I shouldn't say it. I was asked to keep things very simple so anyone listening could get a gist. This was broadcast live, and you are on the spot. That's pressure, none of that was pre-rehearsed. The most important aspect was to convey that mining is about processing, securing and verifying transactions in my mind and to step away from this entire money printing premiss, although they want figures as the readership (in this case viewership) demands such. A while back I wrote an article for an inaugural Bitcoin magazine, they requested I explain the entire concept of Bitcoin mining, and it's history within 800 words and it has to be so mom 'n pop with some financial literacy can grasp the subject. That's not easy when you're assuming the audience has no prior knowledge and you are that restricted w.r.t. word count.

I was told prior to Xmas that a first day Jup had cleared $60k by an early customer, so I'd expect it to be closer to $70k by now given it's been approx three weeks since I was told that now. If I'm wrong, please correct me and I won't repeat the mistake. In any case I'll chase the guy that told me for confirmation, I wasn't pushing sales garb, but obviously the point was to remain positive, and satisfy the q's being asked.

EDIT: have just now heard it myself as the link wasn't working previously, and the audio sounds fine on my iPad. Also I was only given the all clear to go at the beginning of the week, so I entered the above totally blind. And the hair, Wink a very rare good hair day, for some reason it decided to cooperate for once. No complaints there! Tongue

If even that was a a possibility a rig actually making $70USD it would have to be proven since it is not the norm at all. I would believe half that easily. So rather then saying the reward that only 1 person possibly got back should have said the average number. I just hate when marketing/sales people try to lay down numbers and they just somehow pick all the highest numbers they would interest them the most. As you just said, it was a green audience, now they all think if they buy one of those things they are going to make $70k.

The ambient noise issues at CES must of been why it was just heard to hear. I have good ears and understand multiple languages very well, so whatever they did in the audio edit wasn't very good.

thanks new firmware works good eligius with bfminer on Nov

but works bad in oct bfminer

October bfg eats shit for me too.

OK, so it's not just me. That means there's a higher chance of finding a solution!

I posted months ago when BFG was introduced into the firmware that is doesn't work well with the October rigs. Lower hash rate with a much higher hardware error rate.

IF someone who got the first Jupiter, mined with no issues, sold their ~45btc @$1150 then sold their miner for 18btc (and sold right away) then they made over $70k (less price of miner)

doubt anyone did that

Or sold the miner at $25,000 or more. It really isn't out the realm of possibility, just takes a quick decision or two. I know people did it, I know one for sure. Opentoe claiming that it is impossible is nonsense, and calling someone a liar because of it is even worse. He's just jealous that he only got a saturn and didn't buy a bunch of jupiters. Probably didn't sell the thing either.

With all of this hash-power coming online -- when are we going to get an update on Neptune?

We are only 13 days into Q1. My son, you have a much longer wait. Months.

My friends and I bought a large order of ASIC boards/chips and finally everything is built. I'm going from 555Gh/sec to 5Th/sec. And since the electricity is all on a generator paid for by the building owners they could care less filling that thing with diesel everyday. The party starts now! Since I really won't need my Saturn/Jupiter anymore maybe I'll auction it off. Fine running machine.

on another note...
Good thing no miners here ATM...
My new 200 amp service line took a direct lightning strike last night  Angry
It blew every breaker in the house, both live phases
It exploded a 20 amp power strip, blew my desktop, microwave, and left a
3 inch long exploded hole in the new conduit. It struck on the portion
of the line we had not been able to bury yet. The mains are literally in pieces.
After calling the power company, they come and find that my transformer is also blown.
They patched me into a local transformer down the street a bit, but only one phase
is still working with a huge exposed/blackened hole in the conduit for now until I
can fix this mess. oh boy.
So far I was able to get a set of dual 100amp switches for the mains and a
microwave oven (Gotta warm that coffee) to get going
Installing all new 2-2-2 in conduit is gonna be fun I have no way of
splicing the hit portion of the service line   do I?

crap sorry to hear of your problems......no I think you are out of luck....on the splice that is....ask by all means of the power company util guys have not problem with it you are probably ok.....(probably still not up to code but....)

anyway not sure what to do .....have more ground rods ?.....get one of them 'whole house lighting strike surge protectors for 300 bucks?.....stuff like that?

Old Style Legacy Plug & Play BBS System. Get it from www.synchro.net. Updated 1/1/2021. It also works with Windows 10 and likely 11 and allows 16 bit DOS game doors on the same Win 10 Machine in Multi-Node! Five Minute Install! Look it over it uninstalls just as fast, if you simply want to look it over. Freeware! Full BBS System! It is a frigging hoot!:)

And 1.5 months since Neptune was announced, oh great genius of all that is bitcoin. It's time for a technical update, or people are going to start pulling orders.
