Basically, investors expect to eventually receive their original investment back and even more w 2x or 4x profit. However, some of the greatest projects will fail or scams.

I'm new to crypto; I'm wondering if I take $2k out as an initial amount to try the trading? Or get to prepare more first?
Listening to the tip of an unknown person/account to start an investment or trade puts you at risk.
Since you do not know what to invest/trading, it is better to study it thoroughly so that you do not regret losing $ 2000.
Spend more time here, learn how Bitcoin works? Price Speculation, trading bots, wallets and other basic concepts.
After gaining knowledge, you can enter the market safely.

If you learn and succeed you will earn twice, and if you fail you will win once.

your starting amount is not the important matter. what matters most is how familiar you are with this market since you said you want to start trading.
the good news about this market is that you don't have to enter with a huge amount. because the minimum order size in cryptocurrency exchanges is usually pretty small, you can actually start with a very small amount. there may be some limitation due to fiat deposits and some transaction fees but anything around $50 should be more than fine. and when it comes to trading altcoins you can start as small as 1000 satoshi in some exchanges which is about 8 cents.

for someone, $2,000 might be a small amount - for someone else, it's a large amount.
it's up to you to decide how much you're willing to risk.
if $2,000 is something you can afford to lose, then go for it.

as earlier poster mentioned, make sure you know what you're investing in!
don't just invest in something because someone tells you to.
I wrote a thread here with some basic information that you might benefit from reading on how to get started.

if you invest in something you don't understand(and therefore, can't really 'believe in'), you might end up selling at a bad point, or if we're talking about something else than bitcoin, you might just end up buying garbage.
it's your money, and you alone decide how far you will go to determine what to invest in!

You're new to crypto. But you're already planning on taking out $2000 as a starting capital for trading. Well, as you're a beginner, expect to have mostly losses at the start. Is $2000 the right amount? It depends. If $2000 is nothing to you then go ahead. Just remember that you're new, and it's very unlikely for you to profit as of now. I would definitely suggest trading with a significantly smaller amount for now so you wouldn't be affected by your losses.

As a newcomer, just start trading is very dangerous. Before trading, you should need better knowledge to survive in this market. It is better to create some account on main cryptocurrency exchanges and invests a small amount for training purposes. ICOs are also good option to make money but it also very risky. Do you own research before invest or going trading. it will save your money as well as time.

Get prepare first is the best thing. because a lot of beginners lose their money by trading without better understanding. If you want to invest while you are learning, then invest some amont on bitcoin and ETH. Cryptocurrency is the very risk because of that invest some amount that you are willing to lose.  All ways try to protect your initial investment, then invest in everything. Scams are every where. be careful.

The fact that you are asking the advice of strangers on the internet that may or may not have had any success in that particular area is extremely telling to me. I would encourage you to get more informed and prepared before you go throwing money at anything. Too many people are interested in cryptocurrencies and Bitcoin lately just in order to make a few dollars on a good investment. If this is your primary goal, you will most likely get frustrated and walk away at a loss. I would try trading $2,000 of pretend money on a demo account of some trading platform and see how it goes for you over a 2-3 month period. This should give you a little more insight into how the market would have treated you if you used your real money. This will not be indicative of your future performance, but if you have never traded in the cryptocurrency market then I suggest you do some speculation and demo trading before you dive in head first. These markets are unforgiving, unpredictable and unprecedented. I would suggest only investing once you fully understand the fundamentals of the technology, fully support the protocol and understand what Ebbs and Flows the market. It would be much easier to throw your $2,000 into the HODL club and hangout for the long-haul.

Have you read the whitepaper, could you explain how Bitcoin works if grandma asked you?

Definitely prepare yourself before investing into anything--know which currencies interest you and the fees of different exchanges, as well as which wallet is best for your needs. That should get you started  Wink

i think you may visit some blogger sharing their trading experience or suggestions first, and u may have to look on those information, videos or another media that let you know more about the field easily. I think you should also have a look on youtube's tutorial about the how to trade and where to trade as well. Do not hesitate to ask people in the forum and do not hurry yourself.

I highly recommend buying a hardware wallet like trezor or ledger nano s.

money on exchanges are not yours and the exchange can frees your money at any giving time to many strange reasons

keeping your wallet private keys is the only way to be in cryptos.

You should wait and keep watching the price of bitcoin for 1-2 months so you can be familiar with the pump and dump price . Here are the biggest volatility of a coin i have ever seen
You should risk just few bucks than 2k usd

Not trading advice but thinking what i would would do in your shoes. I would wait for a sudden crash and try to buy towards the bottom. Then just hodl and sell at a reasonable profit. Many people prefer to buy some, every time it dips.

You can start at any time in this crypto world, but my advice is to understand the crypto currency and read more and watch video reviews of experienced people. You will have an understanding of what it is read the terms and abstracts, it will be easier to trade and invest.

Basically, you’re opening a position that will increase in value as the cryptocurrency of your choice enhances its price, but will lose a part of your investment if a sudden price drop happens.
It is a smart and user friendly way to easily invest in many of the most famous and promising crypto coins, with a chance to liquidate your assets in an instant.

It very risky to going trading without better knowledge. It will a path loos your money. Is suggest learn about cryptocurrency market and its behaviour before trading. 2k investment is more than enough to start trading. While learning trading does a research about the ICO investment. I personally believe ICO invest more profitable than trading(But you have to find the good ICOs.) all the best for your crypto journey

Of course, first you need to study the market, find promising projects and only then invest. But even In this case there is no guarantee that you will make a profit. If $ 2000 for you is a small amount, you can try.

You can actually divide it into two $1k for trading and the other $1k is for investing altcoins. But doing this kind of stuff is very risky and the most problem of it is you are a newbie, all i can is you must read first and try to review the important information on how make this things out not perfectly but definitely you can gain much more if you have enough knowledge about what you are going to do.

You can start with the lowest possible amount and I would recommend you to invest your time before investing your money and try to understand the market behaviour and develop your own strategies based on your own research instead of blindly rely on others opinion. As far as I know, practical knowledge is the best way to learn how to trade, it helps you to understand the possibilities and adapt your strategies in that direction which yields high returns.

First of watch the news about BTC. See the market overall and its steadiness.

Also, invest in either 3 steps (each entry with 33%), at different entry points.
Or in few incremental steps.
First with, for example (lets take 1 btc)
0.1 btc entry
0.2
etc
etc

and rise higher the amount at the bottom of the price on the chart.
this method is called hedge i think, or dollar cost averaging.

To take any action in this world, the first thing you'd hae to do is to learn. Getting yourself acquainted with the processes of every new thing will make the subsequent decisions you take convenient and fruitful. So I suggest you learn around here first and then you can best decide what to do next

im new to crypto, im wondering if i take $2k out as a initial amount to try the trading? or get to prepare more first?
That amount is nice to do something with it, but firstly you need lots of knowledge about moves that you want to do, after that you could try to put some part of your savings in trading.

you can start trading by learning its policy, advantages and disadvantages. First thing that you need is to learn how to control your emotions and always be patient because trade is very authorative as a seller especially when you encountered the called LOSS and dont be panic because it may affect your trade. But I believe the more learnings you can gain, the more knowledge you can aim, the easier trading you can do.

1)First one I think you should learn how to trade coins in exchange platform .
2)So , how can you get coins ? It's simple and easy , you can get free coins from airdrop or bountries .
3)You can get these airdrop project in some ANN thread .

The amount of money to start is not the point here but your knowledge about crypto. If i were you i will study cryptocurrency first, just hang in this forum, read topics and eventually you will understand how crypto works.

I will suggest you to start participating in bounty campaign. So you earn some money and try it to invest on your own way. Go participate in social media campaign and also study each token that you want to invest. Look if their team is good, their project is good and check also if there are a lot of person in their community who supports and participate their project. Always do your own research and god bless you.

I think it is very reasonable, because when you spend some money to learn something. It will never be wasted. To me, this market is still a new thing. Good luck !

I don't think investing in BTC or ETH is less risky at all, look at Bitcoint , it only takes a few months to make your balance disappear from 100% =>25% . From 21k$ => 6k$ in 2-3 months.

Blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies, as of today, are still in its infancy, and there’s a bit of a learning curve to fully understand the space. I personally find it quite fascinating, and it’s awe-inspiring to witness this explosion of wealth, innovation, and technology. That is basic

Do some own research on which exchange to invest in.
Even if the token/coin price is preferable, the fees for certain exchange to withdraw differs.
Some charge 50 tokens and some charges 10 tokens for withdrawal.

So, I would say don't straight dive in, do some research not only on the token, but also in the exchange that you gonna trade on.
Just a suggestion, try trade.io exchange.

You can give it a try if that amount is affordable to you. However before making your investment, I suggest that you should do your own research first, it is unwise to just blindly follow others’ advice.

You should definitely get prepared first. Otherwise, your $2k will become an easy money for some sharks.  Wink
Keep in mind, that i've warned you.

We're already know that this investment business are going to be game of those shark only. But, as long as he buy and hold Bitcoin for long term, there is nothing should to be worried. Btc still has valued even market was bleeding. But if he want to takes split making investment on altcoin, so your advise could be considering.

First of all, you should do your own research. It is the most important part here, in crypto. I would recommend you such resource, as Blockgeeks and their comprehensive guides.
