this $1000.00 machine and Lamassu machine ( https://lamassu.is/) are not ATM's, they are vending machines. Therefore Licencing shouldn't be required in most countries. In Australia we have 2 Lamassu bitcoin vending machines already operating. Now this is an ATM where you can buy and sell bitcoins https://robocoinkiosk.com/ but they're worth $20,000.00 each. Yeah, its more in USA where licensing is needed for anything that has to do with exchanging currencies.

Yeah there is a video on youtube showing you the parts to order and everything
What is the URL?
|
{ Imagine a sequence of bits generated from the first decimal place of the square roots of whole integers that are irrational numbers. If the decimal falls between 0 and 5, it's considered bit 0, and if it falls between 5 and 10, it's considered bit 1. This sequence from a simple integer count of contiguous irrationals and their logical decimal expansion of the first decimal place is called the 'main irrational stream.' Our goal is to design a physical and optical computing system system that can detect when this stream starts matching a specific pattern of a given size of bits. bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=166760.0 } Satoshi did use a friend class in C++ and put a comment on the code saying: "This is why people hate C++".

http://www.coindesk.com/skyhooks-open-source-bitcoin-atm/An opensource project from my home town! this could really change the landscape. only 1.3 BTC at current exchange prices! Ok, it's really only a BTC vending machine because it can't dispense fiat, but it's 1/4 the price of it's cheapest competitor. Go Stumptown! Thats a great deal. I wonder what other expenses come along with having to operate this, as in licenses and such. A shit ton And that's just now, I imagine there will be a lot more licenses and regulations being created in the future when it comes to Bitcoin machines... seeing as how they're not centralized.

Ok, it's really only a BTC vending machine because it can't dispense fiat, but it's 1/4 the price of it's cheapest competitor. Go Stumptown! This is a great project, way cheaper than current bitcoin ATM machines and also fiat ATM machines The $64,000,000 question is of course which countries will allow these machines. The 64M question is which countries will have the ability to enforce a ban on them. This is an open source project. It's like 3D printer guns or maybe even more like moonshine stills. Open source has nothing to do with the legal status of bitcoin ATM machines. Government regulation does. I think he is referring to can you enforce the law, when you can make these things open source, and likely for less and less cost.

All depends on the country, financial regulations thereof, legal status of bitcoin. You cannot just say "they are vending machines", life isn't that simple.

Its not giving you soft drinks

I'd like to see someone put a Bitcoin vending machine next to a Pepsi vending machine, and ask regulators to explain the difference between the two. If I offer Amazon gift cards in exchange for Pepsi, does that make Pepsi a currency too? How many people need to trade Pepsi before it becomes a currency?

Because some countries view bitcoin legally currency. Pepsi is not a currency.

if they used a lot of electricity, they could double for heaters!
