There are about 210,000,000 kg of gold in the world.
And so, 1 BTC is comparable to 10 Kg of gold.

Yeah guys, according to OP 1 BTC equals $397,000 USD, so everyone is rich now

There is one of me in the world. So I am comparable to 210 000 000 kg Au?

This definition of comparable is too lenient to be useful.

Either that or you're worth 1/3 of a dime.  I think cats are a dime a dozen.

Following the same paradigm, as the world has five times less silver than gold, maybe we can say that 1 BTC is comparable to 2Kg of silver.

{ Imagine a sequence of bits generated from the first decimal place of the square roots of whole integers that are irrational numbers. If the decimal falls between 0 and 5, it's considered bit 0, and if it falls between 5 and 10, it's considered bit 1. This sequence from a simple integer count of contiguous irrationals and their logical decimal expansion of the first decimal place is called the 'main irrational stream.' Our goal is to design a physical and optical computing system system that can detect when this stream starts matching a specific pattern of a given size of bits. bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=166760.0 }

Water is 1,410,000,000,000,000,000,000 Kg so 1 BTC is comparable to 70 trillion Kg (or liters) of water.

Air is 5,140,000,000,000,000,000 Kg so 1 BTC is comparable to 200 billion kg of air.

don't forget that the moon contains 1 billion KG of gold, so the moon is worth 1,000,000,000 BTC

Everyone knows that the gold of moon is on a parallel universe so that doesn't count.  Grin

We all know that Bill gates has a time machine, so it's only a matter of time before someone buys it from him for 1,000,000 bitcoin.

I was in the process of putting together a "catcoin" that had the goal of helping no-kill animal shelters and animal welfare organizations, but someone "pre-announced" the current catcoin about a week before I was going to release mine.  My username has nothing to do with the current catcoin, and I should probably change it since I'm not particularly fond of it.

So, it's really not all that funny... though I see what you were getting at.

And so, 1 BTC is comparable to 10 Kg of gold.

bitcoin is currently not as widely accepted as a store of value as gold, but in case it will ever be, then the price may resemble that of 10kg of gold.

One alos has to consider though that bitcoin is much more valuable than gold for the fact that it's digital, and therefore has a lot of benefits. It can not physically be stolen (although you should take measures against hacking), and it can easily be transfered across the world in milliseconds, something that's impossible with gold. And it probably has many other features that gold can never dream to have.

Therefore, 1 bitcoin may in the future become worth even more than 10 kg of gold.

+1.
This reminds me on the line drawer in charts who say "see, the price has risen 3000% last year, so it will rise 3000% forever. Should the price be below this line, buy! Over the line, go short!"  Roll Eyes

(ps: I am not saying that 300 000$ per Bitcoin is not possible. I am just saying that the argumentation is stupid.)

"Morality, it could be argued, represents the way that people would like the world to work - whereas economics represents how it actually does work." Freakonomics

How about diamond Cheesy

Diamonds are a very different matter because they vary in size and grade, it is already possible to make them synthetically and the stats are not very good in saying how much of them there are.

But, let's say, in a very loose sense that there are about 100 billion diamonds of on average $2,000.
Then 1 BTC compares to about 5000 diamonds and so to about $10 million worth of diamonds.

Some stats say there are about 1.5 billion houses in the world.
So, using the same paradigm, 1 BTC compares to 71 houses.
