Hi,

I'm currently using a 1GB XFX 5870 card for mining scrypt currencies. The problem is that no matter what settings I use online with people using a 5770, it crashes CGMiner or it cannot initiate the thread. I've tried the setx commands, but none seem to do anything. I'm using a 600W PSU with one standard 6-pin PCI-E connector and a SATA to 6pin connector which both seem to be powering the card fine. I'm using Catalyst version 13-12 32bit, and Windows 7 32bit. If I'm lucky, I might get it hash but the HW errors shoot up within 5 minutes.

Any ideas?

How much system memory? What is your configuration in cgminer?  Also test by: take out ALL the flags from CG Miner and attempt to connect with just --scrypt/pool/user/pass
