I cant for the life of me get two of these above 500 each, everywhere I see people getting 620+ easily

Do I need to change the firmware?

GPULoad on one card is low o.O TC too high?

Code:
-g 1 -w 256 --auto-fan --gpu-engine 1150 --gpu-memclock 1450 --gpu-powertune 20 -I 20 --thread-concurrency 22400

Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

Google this:  "Poor hash rate on Radeon 7900 / 280X"

Search that thread, try any appropriate bios, or ask in the thread for your own to be modded.

try this:
 1150/1450 core/memory clock speed
 Thread Concurrency - 24000
 Workload - 256
 gpu-threads - 1
 lookup gap - 2
 Intensity - 19
 gpu-powertune - 20

or

gpu-threads - 2 , and low TC - about 8192
