You work it out as follows:
1000 watts per hour = 1 Kw/h (1 kilowatt hour)
1 Kw/h = 1 unit
Electricity companies generally operate per unit
So for me, for example, my electricity company offers:
- Daytime rate (16 hours) @ 0.18
- Nighttime rate (8 hours) @ 0.7
Which gives me an average of ((0.18 * 16) + (0.7*
)/24 for a unit. That's 0.1433 per unit.
You're pulling 800 watts per hour, which is 0.8 kw/h, so your cost to run would be:
0.8 * UNIT * 24
