You kept the bitcoin transaction fee schedule (0.0001 transaction fee) which is not appropriate for a such a rare coin.  Also, your github sources need cleaning due to; checked in binary files, no .gitignore, no history, no forking.

Please consider revising these numbers:

/** Fees smaller than this (in satoshi) are considered zero fee (for transaction creation) */
int64 CTransaction::nMinTxFee = 10000;  // Override with -mintxfee
/** Fees smaller than this (in satoshi) are considered zero fee (for relaying) */
int64 CTransaction::nMinRelayTxFee = 10000;

Also Mac wallet here: https://s3.amazonaws.com/captemulation/dmg/PI-Qt.dmg
Modifications for Mac build: https://github.com/picoind/pi/pull/2

it wont be rare, people with grapic cards will have no chance of getting any percent of the 3.4 coins and everyone with asic miners will rape this coin

SHA-256 coins are worth more than scrypt in average. ASIC miners won't "rape" the coin cause we've got a quick diff retarget. And the fact that "people with graphic cards will have no change of getting any percent" only proves my poin: it will be rare, even though that's not exactyl true because "we" (I don't own an ASIC) will have a change in the very begining.

Guys please forgive me I just arrived home. I had to attend other stuff and came here as quick as I could. I really don't have words to describe how ashamed I am. Sad

I wasn't home all day so I didn't work on the wallet, and it seems that my friends didn't  work on it either.

I could release the code and linux wallet but the windows wallet would be still missing, but I want it to be a fair launch so I won't.

It seems like I can't compile the damn thing: a friend of mine is in charge of compiling the winwos qt, but I can't contact him right now. :/

So I'll give a bounty of $20 USD (BTC equivalent) to the person who compiles the windows qt.

Just contact me so I can send you the code.

And again, please forgive me guys Sad

Thanks for the update.

I agree, only you or someone you're working with should compile the code. Whoever compiled it here would have a 5-10 minute advantage to mine the coin while others are downloading, installing and configuring the client.

With a coin with this small of block reward, and rarity. Best just delay the launch if you can't get it compiled.

It's kind of shitty to do this 3 nights in a row. 1st night, yeah some bugs understandable. I develop too, and can relate. 2nd night.. Ok so you couldn't get it to compile. Fair enough. But you've had all day to get it compile, I could of built an entire dev machine with all the tools and compiled the windows client with that amount of time.

3rd night, no excuses, I'm done. I will not be mining this coin.

We compiled the windows wallet but something was wrong with it! so we had to use another code and we tested it and it's working fine now.

Please forgive me again for the delay, we are recompiling atm but everything works great now and we are ready for launching, so we have decided to change launch date to tomorrow at 1:00 pm Central Time Zone to make it more fair.

Honestly I wouldn't even bother at this point. You need at least a small group to join in first to be a node for the network until it can grow. But if he was having a hard time getting the windows client to compile that only happens for a couple reasons. Something wrong with the compiler, or the code.

Sorry man, but I've been busy all this week, anyway we are ready for lauch!

All the delays were because we want this to be a fair launch, we could have release the code and linux wallet but it would not have been fair for windows users.

Actually, the Dev's need miners to mine the coin. We're professional enough to be here on time to help. Dev's show extreme unprofessionalism by releasing it late (Especially when you had been here on time in the middle of the night only to have the guy delay it several times) with little to no information. If you're going to release a coin, at least plan it correctly.

It's called having common courtesy.

Yep, the dev outright lied about this in the original post.  I was just typing a comment about the hidden 1.9% premine in block 1 when I saw yours.

Pool works now but fee for taking out PI is 0,1. I think you should fix that and minimal amount for manual payent too. Should be done ASAP.

For anyone that needs more guidance on how to find the hidden premine (which the dev lied about), here you go:

Here's the falsehood:

Premine: 0

Here's the evidence:

Go to the source code (https://github.com/picoind/pi/), src subfolder:

line 70 of main.cpp:

Code:
static const int64 nGenBlockHash = 0.05969026 * COIN;

lines 1248-1280 of main.cpp:

Code:
static const int64 nStartSubsidy = 0.00003141 * COIN;// 3.14159x10^-5
//static const int64 nMinSubsidy = 1 * COIN;
int64 static GetBlockValue(int nHeight, int64 nFees)
{
    int64 nSubsidy = nStartSubsidy;

if(nHeight < 313)
    {
       nSubsidy = 0.00000314 * COIN;// 3.14159x10^-6
        }

if(nHeight == 1)
    {
       nSubsidy = nGenBlockHash;
        }

if(nHeight == 314) // 3.14159265359x10^-4
    {
       nSubsidy = 0.00031415 * COIN;
        }
if(nHeight == 3141) // 3.14159265359x10^-4
    {
       nSubsidy = 0.000314159 * COIN;
        }
if(nHeight == 31415) // 3.14159265359x10^-3
    {
       nSubsidy = 0.00314159 * COIN;
        }
if(nHeight == 314159) // 3.14159265359x10^-3
    {
       nSubsidy = 0.00314159 * COIN;
        }

As you can see, block 1 is set to reward 0.05969026, which is 0.05969026/3.1415 = 1.9% of all coins that will ever be mined.

Dev lied about pre-mine? Not a surprise. Pool charges 0.1? Not a surprise. Over 3 days late, and the Dev thinks I'm going to waste electricity to help him make $10 by dumping the coins on some exchange in the future. I hope this guy is perma-banned from these forums in case he tries another scam.

One of the most unprofessional Dev's I've seen so far.

Dev lied about pre-mine? Not a surprise. Pool charges 0.1? Not a surprise. Over 3 days late, and the Dev thinks I'm going to waste electricity to help him make $10 by dumping the coins on some exchange in the future. I hope this guy is perma-banned from these forums in case he tries another scam.

with my laptop I can not do anything, no luck, too much difficulty, however I have found it a good launch, except preminado failure, I guess the dev solved with the giveaway.

Just another scam coin.

There was a "promoter" in the chatroom Mech posted earlier asking for 0.4btc to get in on the "pre-mine".

Don't waste your time with it guys, 3 days of waiting just to be screwed. Thanks but no thanks dev's we have our own fiat currency, federal and state governments to do that. We don't need some one else to introduce another method. Keep your pre-mined scam coin and shove it.

So this is problem with coin or with BA pool? Not sure. I'm fresh in sha pool running and i'm not sure. All my skrypt pools working fine.

EDIT:
I checked the logs and they not look so good, daemon logs and also stratum logs. Need time to investigate what is wrong.

They have problem too: pi.validerrorpool.com i think.

So it would be pointless anyway, huh?  I guess I'm done here.  Too bad, I liked the idea of this coin.

Some explanations:
1. I do not know PIcoin devs, you can believe me or not.
2. I had a problem with pool that is why i stoped it twice.
3. I do not want to run pool without possibility to pay for mining that is why was closed stright away
4. I can rerun pool but need some testers with no to big power ready to mine for free for few minutes untill coins will not shows up on their accounts.
5. Payout amount is easy to change and i'm doing it right now
6. 0.1% on-demand pay out fee does not mean that you have to pay 0.1 PIcoin nut 0.1% from amount - ok here i was wrong, changed to: 0.00000001.

If somebody interested to test my pool is welcome, i will try to pay some amount for tests.

Well  after three days  I solo'd and got one block confirmed, went away for my dinner and came back to find pools down, no more blocks and a near 2% premine.

I laughed quite a bit then went to mine something else, won't be bothering with PI again.

Oh, and difficulty at 20000+..... ouch, my sides hurt........

checked out the url you posted

Why does this say -scrypt ?

Cgminer: cgminer --scrypt -o coinminer.net:19998 -u yourPIaddress -p x --queue 0 -s 1

your stats look like you may be having problems...

any working pools ?
not at the moment, we are all waiting while some of them mine i guess
Has anyone here gotten wallet mining to work?

I managed to slip in and get 2 solved blocks solo right at launch, but haven't gotten a single thing since then.
how is your hash rate? can i solve a block with 7.5 Gh/s in a reasonable time?

I get just under 7Gh/s, but until the pool is back 100% soloing at this point is probably pointless with our hashrates

I've been mining quite successfully on that pool, so you should probably check your settings/arguments. Are you GPU or ASIC mining? What version of cgminer?

Thank you, I use a jalapeño (BFL ASIC miner) I red the topic you linked me,I think it is hardware problem related with this kind of pool,after this I say goodbye to this coin,at the moment for me is waste of time!
Good night! I hope that I'll not dream nothing related with circles or radiants or π!  Grin if someone in next days will create eulero coin or bolzman coin i 'll mine it! Wink

Few blocks suddenly appear on my wallet once it started to synchronize very first time but im sure they are all dead ones. It might be some trash came into my wallet, No way its a real balance otherwise i would be in PI rich list already, it was a 0.05969026 reward block and few others of .0000314 lol Grin

hi!does someone know what is minimum amount of Pi to do a withdraw in this pool?  http://pi.easy-mining.net/
i tried a lot of times in this two days to get out my 0.000029 Pi without results..
doing the math (in 24 hours of mean) http://coinminer.net:19998/static/ pays correctly also with my jalapeno, even if the payment continues to be discontinuous

Guess what-- the Devs left in Bitcoin's 0.0001 transaction fee.

p2pool or solo mining is probably preferred due to going straight to wallet-- but the p2pool payments went wonky when the block reward increased.

Dev's need to fix this transaction fee issue ASAP

Found this snip of code for another coin that had the same issue.

/** Fees smaller than this (in satoshi) are considered zero fee (for transaction creation) */
 -int64 CTransaction::nMinTxFee = 10000;  // Override with -mintxfee
 +int64 CTransaction::nMinTxFee = 1;  // Override with -mintxfee
  /** Fees smaller than this (in satoshi) are considered zero fee (for relaying) */
 -int64 CTransaction::nMinRelayTxFee = 10000;
 +int64 CTransaction::nMinRelayTxFee = 1;

  CMedianFilter<int> cPeerBlockCounts(8, 0); // Amount of blocks that other nodes claim to have

Hope this helps...

Nope this coin isn't going anywhere. Dev's haphazardly introduced the coin to begin with. No block explorer, pre-mined, no PIcoin website. This coin is done. Stick a fork in it.

It looks like almost 90% hashing power left the p2p pool since it's peak a week ago.
The Dev struggled to get the coin launched and has not been back in this thread since...

I think it's safe to say that what could have been a good coin was ruined by the devs unannounced pre-mine, and the lack of further development and bug fixes has made the miners turn away, leaving the coin vulnerable to a 51% attack if someone wanted to.

The only thing to save this coin is if a competent dev would like to pick it up, but right now I'm not holding my breath for that.. too bad because I like this coin. It appeals to everyone with a taste for mathematics  Smiley

if a developer decides to take charge of this coin I think it would be better to start again with a new block chain to avoid   2%  of premining, it was a scam. Angry

In spite of all I like this coin, and under other conditions Iwould return to mine it  Smiley

I stopped mining this coin because of the 1.9% insta mine.

If a Dev takes this over, rewrite the code to completely ignore the initial 1.9% pre-mine. I'd come back and mine it then if the original dev(s) are cut out of the loop completely.

They had some moron in a chat room auctioning off the pre-mine for 0.4 btc. They tried to pump and dump this coin and miners abandoned it leaving them with a premine that isn't worth the time it took to modify the code to get it.

Good idea, and could be a really valuable coin. Current dev's are worthless. They couldn't even take the time to go over the window's wallet code. There are still a number of area's where "Zetacoin" is referenced....

piss poor copy paste premine con job here.

Transaction fees should be 0.00000001 or 0.0000001 and should not carry additional transaction fees for dust payments bundled together which has been making some transfer fees more than what is in the users wallet to begin with.

Transfer fee is .0001 so it's useless, fee is more than block reward!

The big transfer fees can be mined along with the block rewards. Those would be huge rewards for miners!

There would need to be transfers for there to be any transfer fees.  Dead coins only go to the miners.
