Code:
[quote author=MrDucats link=topic=419943.msg4562652#msg4562652 date=1389961254]

Please open network port 25856 on your router to connect.

Use the following configuration file:

[code]rpcuser=username
rpcpassword=password
rpcport=25858

More information will follow soon and we are ready to take your questions.
[/quote]

Couple things I noticed, compiling from source on linux.

Had to chmod +x the /src/leveldb/build_detect_platform
file to get it to compile.  Also, it looks to my untrained eye like you are actually using port 25858 for both the PORT and default RPCPORT,

Code:
./init.cpp:        "  -port=<port>           " + _("Listen for connections on <port> (default: 25858 or testnet: 25859)") + "\n" +
./init.cpp:        "  -bind=<addr>           " + _("Bind to given address and always listen on it. Use [host]:port notation for IPv6") + "\n" +
./init.cpp:        "  -upnp                  " + _("Use UPnP to map the listening port (default: 1 when listening)") + "\n" +
./init.cpp:        "  -upnp                  " + _("Use UPnP to map the listening port (default: 0)") + "\n" +
./init.cpp:        "  -rpcport=<port>        " + _("Listen for JSON-RPC connections on <port> (default: 25858 or testnet: 25859)") + "\n" +
[/code]

Good catch. This was only cosmetic. As you can see in protocol.h the port being used is 25856 which has now been updated in init.cpp.

My laptop is not finding blocks with this difficulty either. We are aiming to get a pool started within 24 hours.

The algoritme is equal to Quark but coin distribution is totally different and more like Peercoin.

I've tried to adapt Neisklar's https://github.com/Neisklar/p2pool-quarkcoin to Ducats using this thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=214512.0;all and come up with the following patch: http://0x0a.nl:35858/static/p2p.quarktoducats.patch .. A couple of things I'm sure are off. At the very least the SUBSIDY_FUNC is entirely wrong. I tried to verify functionality by running in testnet mode, but the Ducats testnet didn't seem to exist (or I messed up).

Long story slightly shorter, I'm running an extremely experimental p2pool at http://0x0a.nl:35858 (0.9% fee) of which I'm not sure it works at all. It is accepting shares though, so it's not broken 100% Wink. It's certainly a better idea to wait till someone knowledgeable like rav3n_pl comes to the rescue, but if you can't wait and you don't mind to risk losing a lot of time and energy .. you're welcome to join my pool Smiley!

And if you want to run your own p2pool based on my changes, you can do the following:
Code:
git clone https://github.com/Neisklar/p2pool-quarkcoin
cd p2pool-quarkcoin
wget http://0x0a.nl:35858/static/p2p.quarktoducats.patch
patch -p1 < p2p.quarktoducats.patch

p2p.0x0a.nl for all your Cryptographic Anomaly, Cypherfunks, FryCoin, GameCredits, Gulden, PenguinCoin, and TittieCoin p2pool nodes! Err.. I mean needs! .. Both.

I'm testing your pool.

I'm running the optimized cpu quark miner with the command:
Code:
minerd.exe -a quark --url stratum+tcp://0x0a.nl:35858 -u 631obYuQUiU5pVrrMM8RFt2MbRaRn52F9n -p x

I'm getting some yay's.
Now lets run for 10-15 minutes to see if it pays. Smiley

Code:

..

I'll let you know if it pays

Ha, welcome Smiley! Sadly though, payments will only happen when the p2pool network finds a block, and right now, my server is the only p2pool node in existence for this network (unless someone else has patched p2pool as described above and used the same IDENTIFIER and PREFIX hex values) - and of that only p2pool node, we two are the only miners. That means that the two of us only get paid out when either of us finds a block.. If other people start joining the p2pool network, blocks will get found much faster, as will the payouts. (A block found while you have an active share = instant payout) - which is the strength of p2pool. Until then, nothing much happens!  Thanks for testing though Cheesy

p2p.0x0a.nl for all your Cryptographic Anomaly, Cypherfunks, FryCoin, GameCredits, Gulden, PenguinCoin, and TittieCoin p2pool nodes! Err.. I mean needs! .. Both.
