I've just registered an account in bitcoin.org, I could not post on Technical Support box.

I've got big problem that: yesterday, the my Laptop that run Bitcoin Client went wrong.

+ When I did restart the Laptop and Run the Bitcoin Client: 11DbException.

+ I did reinstall the Bitcoin Client

+ Maybe I had forgot backup/save the bitcoin Folder (user/Application Data/bitcoin) before reinstalled the Bitcoin Client.

+ When the Bitcoin Client be reinstalled successfully, the information of the last 19 transactions remained (all transaction are Received - total around 36.xx Btc) but balance just Zero.

+ All transaction: 0/unconfirmed

+ The Btc Client start downloading the Blocks, half-day lasted but nothing changes - 0/unconfirmed

- I'm stuck, I did not performed on Sent Transaction in the past. --- 36.xx btc gone -- sothat I don't have even a btc to donate for the forum.
Please give me an advice.

Many thanks!

P/S: I did read instruction in 2 related threads in Technical Support Box, but it does not work with me. I'm sr for creating new thread about this.

Sounds like you need to finish downloading the blockchain. You can wait for the P2P network (normal way) to download it, or pickup a nightly chain, then move the files into the bitcoin application data directory.

as of this post your client should say block 144325 or higher. If it is not, wait, if it is and still no coins, then you might want to try some recovery techniques

many thanks for your reply!

I've just seen the bright!

There's confirmation when the No. of downloading blocks reaches 141xxx

So I could see that: It's not necessary to save the wallet file to another location for backup, right?

Cause I did not do that, and to do reinstall the client did not replace the file wallet.dat?

IT is always a good idea to have a backup of your wallet. A back up will last 100 addresses.

but upgrades or reinstalls should never mess up your backup. I have done it many times.
However, it is still best to keep a copy of your wallet.dat somewhere. That is the most important thing in all this, always have a copy.
