I have a strange hobby:
I collect joke and shitcoins for fun.
I actually have learned a lot from looking up these types of coins.  A lot of them are a couple of years old actually.
It seems that there was a creative (or people just goofing around) spree three to four years ago where a lot of people made their own blockchains.
Surprisingly, some of these have survived this whole time with people still operating nodes and mining them.
Some of them (like unobtanium) where actually a little expensive.
I think it goes to show the resiliency of blockchain and the brilliance behind its p2p core.
As long as theirs a community, a coin will never die.

So far I have:

Jesus Coin
Insane Coin
Trump Coin
Mao Zedong
Nyancoin
Fucktoken
Tittiecoin
Unobtanium
Noah Coin
anarchists Prime
Evil Coin
and
Satoshi Madness

I plan on getting more too.

Well, alot of it is building up already. Those coins is also valuable when the time comes. If it could become antique in the near future. It is really a jokecoin or shitcoins but let's just be positive if they community will grow maybe we could make those coin alive.

Most of these joke coins wil live longer than many other coins that were created for a purpose because their value mostly depend only on their users.

Those shitcoin and jokecoins definitely are good picks but I suggest you add doge in your collection. IMO dogecoin is one of the best joke coins out there that got real world use cases if ever cryptocurrencies become mainstream (which is to be used as a token for gambling). Albeit it's bad real world use case, it has something going for it that helps sustain its price making you less vulnerable to loss while collecting shitcoins.

Interesting lesson. Especially liked the Way Stalin and Lenin. Now I want to also buy these coins in order to add patriotism to your poor wallet.

Joke coins will live longer?

They are like the living dead so they are might live long as long as they have market cap but the volume of theirs are totally dead so don't waste your money on any of them.

Seeing your collections made my day. No doubt they are shitcoins with shit names. But congratulations, those coins you have are still surviving. I hope they will still somehow worth to hodl in the long run, if not for fun, then for unexpected profits plus fun of hobby. At least, those are your happiness. Collecting shitcoins and joke coins with funny names. Guess, you have a huge amount of money to spend in useless coins.

Not so much extra money.
Most of the coins I got on cryptopia and were crazy cheap, like one or two satoshis (.00000001 btc, less than one cent).
Unobtanium was $60 when I bought it and it was the most expensive by far.
Since then, it has risen to $130, but I don't plan on selling it.
I only have one and it really is just a hobby.

Since my last post I have added Putincoin and Shrekcoin.

For my father's birthday, I gave him a present of 1000 Jobscoin (cost me about 50 cents lol).
He is obsessed with apple products and considered Steve Jobs the most influential person of his time.
My dad absolutely revered him.
needless to say, he absolutely loved it and said it was the best present he's had in a long time haha.
