NOOB question. After the new wallet update, how does one move the old wallet address to the wallet? If I put the old wallet.dat into the new wallet folder it asked if I want to overwrite. How do I just add the other wallet address without losing the other?

Thank,
wonk

Your wallet.dat will be read by the new one.

Do i need to change the name to wallet1.dat or something? It seems if I have coin in old wallet.dat and I overwrite it with the new wallet.dat, I will delete coin.

Basically when you update the reddcoin-qt.exe you don't need to touch the wallet.dat file. If you want to feel safe just backup everything.

Maybe I'm over thinking this but I'm sure when everyone else started, this was a fear. lol So, I have the old RDD wallet with said dat file or address. Then I updated and now have 2 RDD wallets. The two programs are separate and each have a different Receive address. If I overwrite the old wallet .dat file won't I lose all the coins associated with that wallet file?

Before I put any coins in any wallet file. I will export the private key from the wallet and print it on a piece of paper. You can delete the wallet file and still get back the coin using the private key.

For your case I have no idea whether both wallets are same or not. Maybe just check the balance on both and keep the one with coins.

Is anyone else having problems with the coin at the moment?  My wallet stopped syncing this morning, and I have a bunch of confirmed coins from pools that aren't sending out payouts.  And yes I am on v1.1 as well as the pools I am on.

hey multibit,

We apologize for not replying to your questions earlier about the tipbot. Reddcoin himself is very busy, as am I. We are constantly working on the coin and don't always check the forum. I make sure to check it once a day and catch up on the new pages of comments, but I can't spend 3 hours answering everybody immediately.

Regarding the tip bot and how it works, I'm pretty sure you got it already, but just in case:

Whatever thread you reply to, whoever is the writer of that thread will receive the amount you send by writing:

+/u/reddtipbot 1000 reddcoins

We are either working on development of other apps, speaking to developers, working with reddit and other marketing (facebook, twitter, etc.) or taking a little break because we also need to get some fresh air here or there.

Please be patient or work with the other members of the community when it's a question any experienced tipper on reddit can answer (for example in this case). We'll gladly help you but that's also why there's a community, so we can focus more on getting the big steps taken care of.

Thank you for understanding,

Ricky

Sorry for the off-top but why RDD Wallet does not have picture of the coin inside the wallet...lol.

I know this is pretty stupid comment on my part but I've become somewhat a collector of unique cryptos and wallets and having no picture of the red snail inside my wallet bugs me. Just FYI  Smiley

Not sure what happened but it started syncing again on it's own, I see 8 active connections now.  Also got a giant payout from my original pool.  I don't know what it was but /shrug....thanks for the info Smiley

Why stopping the sync? Have all nodes - Sync will not finish.

Any Idea?
