I assumed from the reply that you were being ironic, sarcastic or simply an ass. If none of these options is correct and you were really thanking me for the crash course then, hmmm, you have bigger issues than I do.

On the other hand if it was actually any of the 3 options described, then I can safely say that your quoted reply can be read as
