powered risers......yeah....most new graphics cards are plugged directly into the psu anyway no? just saying if i have enough PSU power wire length i could buy a normal riser and thats it....

Power raisers are ONLY needed if your running on a slot outside of a pcie x16 slot. They already provide power though the raiser for the card... your fine with a unrpowered raiser.
You need POWERED raisers when you go to a slot outside of the pcie x16 slot because then you need to supplement the normal wattage your card would draw from the slot and the slots outside if the pcie x16 do not support the amount of power the card needs though the slot.
