Switzerland is considering of launching a crypto currency.  Studies are being conducted.  No wonder it the proposal comes true very shortly.  Because Switzerland is the country which survives on two things
1  Tourism and 2  Black Money of the world.

Tourism is the sector which will get a big boom after the crypto is used by most of the people.
This country is because the heaven for the black money so they know that money inflow will increase with the adoption of crypto currency.
It will be easy for the black money holders to park their money in Switzerland because it will be  easy via crypto.

This is a very good step to make and hopefully the government will take its step also to boost the cryptocurrency in their country without getting abused to its use from the people. This would cause price increase, which would definitely bring attention from investors from all over the world. And here we have another bubble and I believe it would be a lot bigger then bitcoins bubble.

From the various favourable cryptocurrency news coming from Switzerland recently, I believe this will be a very good idea and also more investment opportunities in cryptocurrencies.

No surprise there. Switzerland is one of the most advanced countries in the world. And this move of launching a national cryptocurrency proved it once again.

The matter is at a very nascent stage and nothing has been confirmed yet. The lower house of parliament has asked for a detailed study on it and based on that study, decision will be made. Also the crypto market will not be benefited even if Switzerland finally decides to launch it because it will just be a digital form of the government backed money. It will not help bitcoin or any other altcoins to recover their market cap. Not particularly cheering news!

It maybe good for the introduction of blockchain technology but as for cryptocurrency market, it would have no effect because as what is stated, it is still controlled by the government and most likely a private blockchain. I can see that in the future more countries would consider adopting blockchain technology and maybe make their own cryptocurrency to compete with those decentralized cryptocurrencies because it would be efficient to use than fiat given that we are almost depending on technology in all aspects of our lives.

Will governments allow their Cryptocurrencies to be deflationary or will they settle for stable coins.  How about the Decentralization aspect? Will they use public or Private Blockchain. My guess is that they will choose private Blockchains to continue  printing currencies out of thin air and possibly Manipulating the general Crypto market.

I wish the Crypto community can come together and agree to reject any kind of Cryptocurrency that isn't transparent enough.

Yes, of course, we all know that Switzerland is never against crypt. They may take the possibility of launching their own crypto. Switzerland finally decides to launch it because it will just be a digital form of the government backed money.

Switzerland has always supported the Crypto community. This also is a good signal of what is to be expected in the future. I do hope that other nations see reasons to support Cryptocurrency.

That's a neat idea for all the countries to launch their own cryptocurrencies. I know it sounds odd because of the decentralized nature of crypto, but I don't think it's impossible;)

To everyone in this thread that is saying this is good news, please consider this :

1. The more money being invested into E-franc, the less is available to be invested into Bitcoin.
2. GovCoins is bad, because it is controlled by the same government that is in control of Fiat now.
3. When E-franc is implemented, the governments will start to ban other Crypto currencies to eliminate the competition.
4. E-franc is a step backwards into centralization again. <Centralization of authority>

So, rejoice all you want, but just take note that the E-franc is our competition and it goes against everything Crypto currencies stand for.   Angry

Let's not get ahead of ourselves here, they've just ordered a study to be made here.
You can't say that it's even likely that they are going to launch their own crypto.

This study can take years to fully finish and even then the chances of something being done are still very low.

Yeah, I agree. Its too early to call, although we all know that Switzerland is not against crypto but the likelihood of launching its own crypto might take years. Would like to see them also taking the lead in UE because we all know that they have been a safe haven for years in the banking industry until the US step up and "forced" them to open up bank accounts after bank accounts.
I hope that other countries will do the same thing. This decision made by the Switzerland is a good decision that will lead them to be a gold country. As we all know bitcoin is the future of currency and therefore people will start to use bitcoin soon. Just like the Switzerland, it is the perfect timing for them to start cryptocurrency. But it is more good if they focus on bitcoin, because bitcoin has more benefit and the one on top of all other coins. So much for that we should be hopeful that more and more will start using bitcoin.

Switzerland hopes to become a true reference in the crypto-currencies sector and wants to become an indispensable hub for investors. It is for this reason that the authorities are currently working on implementing a regulation favourable to virtual currencies.

Switzerland is in favour of crypto-currencies and it intends to make it known to anyone who wants to hear it. In order to become a leader in the field, the country focuses on the future of digital currencies.
So much so that the federal government has just commissioned a study on the issues and relevance of the e-franc implementation.

This would be a state crypto-currency, of course supported by BlockChain technology.

That's very nice, all country has able to create their own currency as long as the people believe and embraced it and specially people benefited to the said currency why not?, the important is this currency is accessible and available if ever they want to trade international. And the most important here is increasing of economic growth because of taxes generated from crypto in every transaction like Bitcoin that's really appreciated.

Its nice to hear that Switzerland had joined the growing numbers of crypto currencies friendly countries by launching its own crypto E-franc, Venezuela had launched petro, this is a welcome development I believed other countries will follow-suit so as to sustain the growing numbers of cryptos in the ecosystem. Although this crypto will be well regulated and centralized this might discourage potential investors.

If they are producing their national cryptocurrency, how would the government be able to control it owing to the decentralised nature of the  blockchain technology?

This news is not confirmed yet but I came to know that the lower house parliment of Switzerland has taken a serious notice about that case but still this case is pending and cryptocurrency is not launched yet but I don't think that its will make the crypto market red if allowed by parliment. As,national currency is always government backed money and will not help bitcoin or altcoin to raise their market value.

That's just great news!!! Switzerland is not inferior to anyone else in the economic sector. It makes me very happy. I think that many countries, both in Europe and in the West and the East, will adopt the experience of Switzerland. In fact, all this is going on, everyone knows that soon there will be crypto economy.
