Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

What's up with Poloniex? Seems like it's not updating since 4 hours .
I had not noticed it wasn't moving until you pointed it out. Not really sure.  Yeah, seems to be a problem with the exchange as it's affecting all coins at the moment. This is part of the problem of only being on one exchange. Interesting. I've successfully bought two orders, withdrawn, and now the same two orders are there, exact to the satoshi. |
