They are kinda too late to the game, overstock overshadowed them by a mile. If they listened awhile ago, they would have had all that press, now no one really cares.

I care

http://futuremoneytrends.com/blog/?p=18658

they still got in before newegg; and they have a LOT more GPU's than overstock Smiley

True, they could've had a bigger spot light if they were first. But you can't argue that wider acceptance and more positive news is not a good thing for BTC.

Are you joking??? This is HUGE! This is the first of the major online electronics retailers to sign up! AWESOME!!! Everyone's bought from TigerDirect!!! Yeehaw! Giddy up bitcoin as a currency!  Grin

Overstock is big but it's mostly like housewares and stuff, did you see the top thing being bought with bitcoin was sheets?Huh Sheets! I mean good for the sheet-buyers but TigerDirect has a hell of a lot of stuff I would like to buy and now I can with BTC baby!!!

I never said positive of news is not good thing for BTC, but I am just saying they had so much time to do, and we begged them a lot and they brushed us off and now overstock accepts it and they go and accept it. Just saying I am not going to be buying from them for that reason, they never believed in it and thought they would get a huge press because of it. I am glad they don't.

So you're not happy with them just because they weren't the first one? I say being the second major retailer to adopt BTC is still pretty good, before newegg, amazon, ebay etc... Which puts a bit more pressure on the rest to follow

That's great news. I buy from them almost as often as from Newegg. No sign of it on their Canadian site yet though.

Too late to join a financial revolution? Don't think so.

They weren't the first? Who cares. Perhaps they were not only after a PR bump, but simply opening themselves up to a multi-billion dollar market space that has brought success to other retailers like Overstock.

Which is very indicative of how far Bitcoin has already come.

Concerned that blockchain bloat will lead to centralization? Storing less than 4 GB of data once required the budget of a superpower and a warehouse full of punched cards. https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/8/87/IBM_card_storage.NARA.jpg https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Punched_card

They aren't major just for the record, they are far from it actually, but they are suppose to be geeky and sell computer hardware and they didn't believe in bitcoin so yeah. just my opinion.

Man, your ignorance is shocking. You aren't American, nor a native English-speaker are you... TigerDirect is majorly major. They have 2 Billion plus in Revenue a year, Overstock only has half of that. EVERYONE BUYS FROM TIGERDIRECT at some point if they work with computers or are into electronics. My father, a programmer, must have spent 10s of Ks over the years with them. I have bought dozens of things from them, even if I don't work directly in information tech.

TigerDirect is just a MAJOR discount electronics and computer retailer. Period.

And another thing...It can take time for a large corporation to clear an entirely new payment system with their legal department and accountants. The tax implications alone must freak out the shysters and the bookkeepers...

Well then explain how Overstock did it fairly quickly? Let me tell you something I am little more in the loop of bitcoin stuff than you, I kinda know what happened and if want to use them great, but they are just using a PR marketing ploy, they weren't working on this as long as you think they were, and they had a heads up overstock was doing this so they kicked into high gear.

This "they aren't true bitcoin believers so I won't buy from" holier-than-thou shit is so stupid. Grow the fuck up, this isn't a religious debate.

And FANCY.COM started accepting BTC's too (from 25/1 I think but not so much publicity) . But for GPU's and electronics I think Overstock would be the best option  Wink .
