I know only one program for HDD plotting on CPU. XPlotter v 1.0 Can find everything about her presence on the Internet and on YouTube.  I do not do plotting myself, because I think that it is not very profitable.

I was planning to try this before, but it needs a large amount of HDD space so I think it is better to go directly their announcement thread and ask for any step by step guide how to start mining burst coin.

Check this Announcement thread here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1541310

Good choice to start mining. It doesn't require high graphical facility. Even you can mine while working in your PC. You just need to follow some instructions with some instruments.
Points to focus:

  • It require high amount of space in HDD. The higher size, the better mining
  • It doesn't require CPU or GPU
  • Space allocation before starting mining

And to know the steps in brief, follow the link. Hope it will be clear to you.
Here is the link: https://steemit.com/cryptocurrency/@cardboard/mining-burstcoin-hdd-is-all-you-need-tutorial-for-newbies

Thanks.

But i have a little notice for @etin06:
1. Mining using HDD isn't profitable
2. How much money to buy HDD - How many you get Burstcoin
3. Better is should not waste time (to mine using HDD)

Google is your friend. and if you do not have 30TB+ of free space, dont even think about any profits. It's a waste of time, hdds. You are late for a couple of years.

Sure, google is your friend and so is Youtube.  One of my favorite youtubers is "Lee" AKA iMineblocks.  His videos will tell you all you need to know and more:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iIPdDiH-A4s

Good luck with this innovative method for blockchain development.  I'm still into CPU/GPU mining exclusively but wouldn't mind getting some harddrive action going

@OP just found out about it (Mining using HDD) and still learning. If to learn is never too late but to find profitable (Mining using HDD), yeah @OP too late.

IMO if you (OP) are the kind of person to make a post like this, unlike most other mining... BURST is out of your league. The learning curve for burst is too high. Getting starting in BURST is a pain, too much to get wrong.

I know that the profit over the hard disk is over, my friend.
Because the result I read on the forum is that way.
but you can start the digging jobs by using the processor power;
income you will bring = equals the electricity you will spend

Mining Burst Coin now is not profitable (since January.2018). I mine it mostly for fun now, but I like Burst coin for sure, its community is big and nice Cheesy - my Burst rig: 82Tb.
If you really want to get involve with Burst Coin mining, follow some steps below:

1. Doing research on ROI and about Burst:

- Profit (actual return may need to be cut 20% as compared with this site): https://blocks.fastpool.info/calculator
- Network size: https://blocks.fastpool.info/charts/estimated-network-size
- ANN thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=731923.0

2. Prepare your rigs: may need a decent CPU or GPU to plot files, and of course HDDs - I'm using core i7 7700k

- Download Wallet: https://www.burst-coin.org/
- How to plot files: https://github.com/Blagodarenko/plot_optimizer_1.6-j6jq
- How to mine Burst: https://github.com/Blagodarenko/miner-burst/releases
- Pool Overview: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1KHu9BWwy_QXIYAx2m_Tzs9BqPoTYUDhEDbHihZEXGsE/edit#gid=327728699

It means a specific rig, just for mining Burst coin?

Or mining rig (GPU) and its HDD use to mine Burstcoin on simultaneously?

I mine it mostly for fun now, but I like Burst coin for sure, its community is big and nice Cheesy - my Burst rig: 82Tb.
But you hope for future this coins can go to the moon Grin

My rig: 8 GPUs + Burst mining (using CPU).

Yeah I bet a bit on Burst coin, but not that much. Actually I mined Burst since last June, and it's ROI already.
So basically I got profit then nothing to be regret, I just keep mining it (always at idle phase, no power consumption).

That means "unless" @OP has Mining Rig and uses HDD on Rig to mine Burstcoin if the @OP doesn't have Mining Rig better don't do mining (Burstcoin).

almost all suggestions in mining (altcoins) are based on the miner's experience and adjust to the topic being asked/discussed.

Have you ever actually mined it?
If so, you'd know that whilst not very profitable at the moment, it is definately not a scam coin.
Been around about 4 years from memory, and recently had a huge amount of work put into it.

However, since it has been round a while, difficulty has shot thru the roof recently, making it probably better to just buy rather than mine.
They says its never too late, but personally i think Oct 2017 was a better time to start mining this coin.

For the newbie who started this thread, with 32TB, you'll get about $3 a week, so do the math and make a choice.
