Yes it is. We did not push this thread since we were really busy these days. The whitepaper release (and early bird investment possiblity) is about to be delayed for 3-7 days (no longer). We have to wait one or two more days to reset the release to an exact date.

Anyway we made great progress the past few weeks and are very optimistic. We will provide news in 1 or 2 days. If you have any questions just feel free to ask here or as PM.

Sorry for the delay - if you find this delay suspicious (don't shout scam) than please invest after the release of the whitepaper.

Is this because nobody invested in your scam(I'm not shouting)?
Do you think it is fair from the viewpoint of people who invested allready?

no that is really not the point. We do not think that there will be more early bird investors if we make the period any longer (and investing after release of whitepaper might attract way more people). Moreover there might be some people who decide to invest as early bird at the last possible date anyway. We just need some more time for the whitepaper since we want to have all basics programmed when releasing the whitepaper. So we can describe what we already have done and not only talking about something that we might can do in the future vaguely. The paper will mostly be a "snapshot" and technical description of what we have already done (core system and some extended features, but not all).

The release of the whitepaper will be on 22 february, time to be announced.

I just want to encourage the people to think of investing in eXocoin via escrowed transactions for your own safety. We will update the original post so that you can see escrowed transaction investments as well soon.

Thank you, Anon136, for offering your service. We will accept any initiated escrow investment with you.

Yes the PoW part of eXocoin will stop after 6 month completely. After that it is a PoS coin only. We want to spread eXocoin among as many people as possible and want to have a PoS coin at longterm. Therefore we decided to offer several ways to get into this coin. Traditionally mining will ensure that there will be many different people getting some EXO among with the other options: free mail giveaway, IPO at several stages and accepting escrowed transactions to ensure that we deliver what we have promised.

thanks for the clarification. is the dev team taking a portion?
No. The dev team is paid by the IPO but there is no premining or hidden account or something. We as dev team can invest the same way as everyone else and get the proporional amount.

Interesting.

do you plan to implement randomness in the selection of stakeholders like nxt? or are you planning on using something like coindays from peercoin. Or something else entirely? if its something else entirely than what? will you be taking a data driven approach to transactions like nxt or scripted transactions like with bitcoin?

Confirmed and accepted.

Really interesting questions. Well of course we discussed about that point quite a lot of time. We do not like the way peercoin implemented this at all. They rely on the (maybe wrongly assumed) behavior of large stakeholders.

nxt improved that mechanism in our point of view. So our algorithm will base on the idea of randomized selection. But more will be announced in the whitepaper soon.

I am not sure if I understand your second question. Please rephrase your question if this answer will not match:
eXocoin will not support a script engine build transaction. However there will be some kind of distributed contracts (since we want to exchange btc<->exo within the native client and we are thinking of something like native escrow support in the client). Maybe this is a wording problem between data-driven and scripted. But I hope that you got the idea.

Good you get an A+ on the first question.

Yes I understand.

Ok so my next question is, you say the dev(s) are just going to buy in like everyone else, but where are the funds that people use to buy in going? If they are going to the dev(s) than that is a difference without a distinction. Either way i would like to know what percentage of the stake you/the other dev members plan on holding.

As i think you can tell im beginning to become interested in your project. I may be looking make a commitment to buy in. I'm i correct in assuming that you would be ok with me using myself for escrow since i have rep as an escrow provider?

NXT has already launched and has much talking about. No doubt. eXocoin is not a descend or clone or anything related to NXT. Its coded from scratch. There will be features that NXT do not have. And it will be fully open source one day. You cannot be 100% sure that NXT do not have a hidden trap in there current binaries or something.
We don't want to blame NXT. It has great innovation! What we are concerned of is that about 75 people are holding the vast majority of the whole crypto. That is what we want to change with eXocoin. The wider it spreads the better! Preventing pump&dump from a single individuum to crash the exchange rates to 0.
NXT does not have a mechanism to prevent typos in transactions or to detect swapping bits in transactions. eXocoin developer will invest a high amount of time to make transactions safe! Typos will be detected as well as swapping bits within network or computer layer. You do not have to remember an address of someone. You can register, buy and sell aliases for them decentrally!

Got parts of your code to show? Anything to show other than text yet?

I am sorry to tell you that we will not show you parts of our code yet. If you are unsure about eXocoin you might consider investing with escrow services (Anon136, other bitcointalkmember, professional agencies) or wait until a later stage (get at least the free mail giveaway). You will see that the whitepaper will have technical details that might convince you more. The source, however, will be release to public some time after the launch (but it will be release one day completely and compilable).

Yes I understand.

Technically you are right regarding the dev's investment. eXo_coin just wanted to emphasize that no one of us will get randomly EXO on launch day. Each of us could get maximal: 15% * (100,000,000) * (1,5BTC / all_invested_BTC) EXO (of course we invest as early-birds).
Since we do not touch the investment wallets at all (you will not see outgoing transactions) you can be 100% sure that we will not use the invested money of all of you to reinvest it "with our names". Moreover we do not invest that much BTC at all. Luckily it is very transparent for everyone to check how much EXO someone must get on the launch day.

In that way - we can speak of investing with our own money and you all can proof that this is true since there are no outgoing transactions. I will invest about 0.4 BTC within the next days - the others will not go any higher I guess. So it is up to the community on how much % we will hold on launch day, but we are far away from being the largest stakeholder anyway.

I appreciate that you are thinking of an investment. Since others trusted you "successfully" and your hero member status we can accept an escrow by yourself. In that case tell us how much you would like to invest and please at least reassure shortly that you are going to release the holded amount to us once you will have seen a successfull beta test (at least we need the BTC one day before the launch). That would make it a bit more formal.

Can I still get in on the early bird?
Absolutely! You still have time to get an early-bird. Deadline: 22nd february (exact time is not set yet)

best wishes
exokk
