One could think that devs are now rushing something to the market just to get their hands on the BTC. What was the chance to hit the deadline by one hour?
This is exactly the same thing that came to my mind when I saw the announcement.

Guys,
what are the safeguards against a "rushed to market" product and no followups by the devs?
I believe it was agreed that a third party would check all the code and that the network had to be stable for two weeks before transfer of all the escrowed BTC (or am I making things up)?
If that's not the case, we should demand this. We as escrow holders have a large saying in what we want before Anon releases the coins.

If we will not have eXocoin launched before 31th October 2014 then we will quit the project completely and refund all investments.
before actually means today, right?

"don't want to excuse ourselves but things need time
Launch will be on 31th October 2014 23:00:00 GMT
Information on how to claim the coins for your investments will follow soon."
Latest news!
HORY SHIET! So they can take the money in escrow with Anon, never shall hear the devs. Ask to request the opening of the source code and testing for two weeks before releasing money.Might be a scam, client server instead of something p2p. I agree, before release of BTC and LTC from Anon, we should have an independent review of the code and a test to make sure everything is as it should be. Fuck that just launch it You guys should hope/ask for a refund. The alt-coin market has changed drastically since January. Look at all the other ICO type coins lately that have much more hype than this coin and they were big fails. This coin is likely to flop on the open. Scratch the project and ask for your btc back.

I would love to hear now what's the exact procedure is.
Will we see some kind of stable network before releasing the BTC from escrow? Are there other measures taken before throwing money at them?

Look at it this way, we are bound to hear from DEVs here.. I mean they will have to log in into bitcointalk for the first time in 2 months, or not??

Unfortunately this is completely true as well!! Asking for a refund, just because the market has changed and we some fear to not have made a good investment...would be the same as if they would not launch and run with the btc. Basicaly when sending them btc/ltc, we payed them to deliver a product (exo-coin). And even IF exo-coin will be worth nothing (which I don't belive), due to the alt market having changed , then that was one of the risks we took when investing. If they deliver what they prommissed and we asked for a refund, then WE would be the scmmmers. On a nother note, looking forword to see if they manage to stick to there release date this time

If the devs and escrow holder agree then how is it scamming? The project took way longer than expected with limited communication by the dev team, which hurts the image and marketability of the coin. We all know that marketability and image is one of the biggest drivers of a coin's success. Based on the last 2 months I would say they under delivered in that department. Like you said, let's see if they deliver the promised technology.

EXO will be fine if it deliver what the dev team promised and keep a stable network which I highly doubt will be.
New source and countless delay show it has problems can't be solved in short time.Things can easily go south after launch. We have huge chance to lose no matter the launch happen or not.

Each escrow investor only has a say in regard to his/her OWN personal investment... why would I want/need other escrow investors to also ask for release in order to get MY eXo? IF eXo launches... there is a very big chance that it will be the most completed/developed coin at launch in all 2014. Do you realize that eXo is already at a better stage in development than other coins that have already launched months now (some of which gathered double, triple, etc. the amount of BTC)? Why do you feel that eXo's image is hurt and why would eXo be less marketable than all these unfinished "launched" coins out there? I'm just trying to say that asking for a refund doesn't turn anyone into a scammer, that's ridiculous. What features will this coin have at launch?

No objection to the whole scammer thing... I was discussing your perception of eXo somehow being hurt and unmarketable to the point where I would not want to receive my EXO... trust me... aside from everybody getting refunds across the board... I seriously doubt that I won't be releasing my BTC (based on what I saw during tests). As far as features go... I was trying to denote that eXo is more developed than other broken "launched" coins... I wasn't trying to build an argument around the features themselves. Edit: By the way... I edited my previous post... one of the most completed/developed coins & unfinished/broken. I'm trying to determine the secondary market perception of the team. We already know the dev team will go months without communication and that typically doesn't bode well for the market price. Secondary market investors want some assurance the development team will be active in the community and is committed to the project. As of now, that's the way I see it.

I assume you invested directly... this is what I found on the website: If you have a direct investment please read this information: You download the eXocoin client, generate one address and tell eXo_coin via PM that address. If you have communicated with us only via email then write an email instead. You're probably safe if the bold part is true in your case. If NOT... I would communicate with the devs immediately through PM (and/or email) and provide them with a signed message from the sending BTC address asking that they do not take into consideration anything coming from the hacked account. I have the same problem, pm'd the dev what to do, but didn't get an answer for weeks now So I will do what smaragda and TWinWinNerD proposed.
