Should we teach children to have businessman mentality or be successful employee

We all have that thought why do Chinese people actually make it in the business world. The reason apparently is that at an early age, their parents are conditioning the minds of their children to do business in the hopes that they will actually be heirs to their family business.
In your opinion, should we be teaching them the same or teaching them to be successful employees for the sake of climbing up the economic ladder?

You know what that is really good....  To enhance the skills and mind of children in terms of bussiness....  If it is only the way to develop them more why not....  But if for me if you will going to ask me it is much better if we will let them to enjoy their life first and if they get old maybe it is much better to teah them atleast they will understand it....

i think to be a good businessman is a certain talent and one's will. you can teach the skills certainly, but someone has to be an employee, i would guess some people want to be employees only

Personally, I prefer to teach my children to have a businessman mentality, it is ok to start as an employee, learn, earn and save so that in time you will be able to have a bsuiness of your own, follow your passion and start a business about it. No one should be a slave of their bosses or your family's business if you don't want to. Find your passion and start a business from there. As the saying goes, you will not work another day in your life if you love what you are doing.

I think a person is born with Entrepreneur skills and these cannot be imbibed into a person. You can obviously teach your kid to be a good employee but you can never teach your kid how to be a good Entrepreneur.
The Chinese people are really smart and doing business is in their genes. Just like a section of Indian community is highly business focused, in the same way Chinese people too are really good at doing business.

I definitely think kids should be taught to be independents and do there own thing as opposed to becoming another life long worker slave. Unfortunately, schools basically train kids to be future workers, in the west anyhow.

You have a point actually kids can't go any further more of what they have learn, not like matured people who knows how to understand the situation of what we have already encountered in life. Kids can be taught on how to be a dependent in life but basic learnings only so that they wont lose one's heads.

Teaching our children how to be a successful entrepreneur and successful employee will not hurt. This is done so that our child can develop his or her mind to be able to survive and earn money when adult later. But we also should not be too forced to how our children later, and we must teach it gradually in accordance with age and in accordance with the way our children will think later.

The way I see things is that teaching children in business is part of the chinese culture even in era days. Chinese people are really a merchant and that is the way they are living as time goes by to preserve their culture in business they teaching or encouraging their children even if its not the right age to teach them. Just like the Chinese people it is not bad to teach them even if they are children in the business industry, however we also need the opinion of your child if they want or they love to learn our business because some children is forcing to learn and they really do not want to enter the business industry.

 WE can teach our children every good things, values, love for our own cultures, but remember it is our style of bringing their up, our educational system, and the environment we live in that would contribute to the development one child, we may have the teaching on how to be come a good businessman or to become successful employee but if our kids have develop some kind of ability to do something else, then i think it is them or our child choices what to become of them in the future. for me it is better to exposed them with the good educational system the let them decide with our guidance as parent would be most beneficial for our kids.

If the Chinese people make it in the business world at their early age, I guess other can do the same thing for what the Chinese did it, isn't

right? In fact, we can teach the kids depending in the parents I think.  If the parents are business minded person they can teach their children

anytime they want, because in terms of business as long as you are determined to know it age doesn't mater anyway that's all I know about it.

From my own perspective, it's better we teach children to have business mentality rather than an employee. Being business oriented means you've acquired skills to create solutions and generate money for yourself even in unfavorable economic conditions. In a recession economy, firms downsize alot and being an employee at that time would be a big disadvantage as there's high probability of laying off workers.
Additionally, many employees goes broke after retirement because low gratuity and pension but business owners are secure for life.

Well for me it is better to teach our children to have a business mentality because even if they became a successful employee we do all know having employment could not bring us to to comfort that we are longing for in life. If we become a successful businessman we can buy what ever we want in the future and we can also help people who are in need. That’s why right now while my kid is young i am exposing her to different business opportunities and investments.

At their very young age for me giving them a background to both having a business and working for a company is good so that they can have both ideas for i believe it is really up to them what they want to pursue when they grow up. so giving them both knowledge about it can help them think of what they want to take whether it's putting up their own business or to become a successful employee.

This is important because we need to give our children all the information that they need in order to take an informed decision, how many people let their children be basically been educated by the TV instead of doing the job themselves and then they get disappointed with the results of their children, they do not have any right to complain if they do not do their best for their children.

To be honest, instead of teaching them to be a good employee or the entrepreneur, we must teach them the core functionality of the money. According to Robert Kiyosaki (famous author of a best seller books like 'Rich Dad, Poor Dad'), most of us are involved in the rat race and that is working for money, earning money and then spending money and then again working for money. This is a never-ending cycle until we understand that money never sleeps and we can employ our money and that will work for us and bring more money. I believe that this fact should be explained to the kids in this age to optimize their lifestyle in a smarter way.

What you have said about money working for you is the idea of business mentality that should be imbibed in the kids of today so that they can at least do things that will let them put their money to work rather than using all their life’s to work to earn.

Nevertheless, we have to understand that not everyone is cut out for business as some just prefer the career path no matter what you tell them, so at the end; you just have to find a way to let them choose on their own by at least letting them learn how to be successful in either of the two.

maybe it's a good thing, but every child has a fashion each does not all have business talent and it does not feel good if there are coercive actions from parents even if it's for good, but it would not hurt to try to apply it this way if the child's interest, early age is important but still we have to adjust the portion with the condition of our children

I personally think the kids should be taught how to manage their finance. Business or job, doesn't matter as long as the person has his finance in control. There are plenty of business men who lost everything they had because they suck at financial management. There are also plenty of millionaire job workers who succeed with money because of their financial management skills.

We need more encourage our children to become a successful business man that a employee because based on the survey that out of 100 employee only 1 can be successful but it depemds on their job but just like chines was their mindset was to become a successful business man like here in my country that most of the employer and owner of big company was Chinese.

I do not have kids yet, but in 2,5 months I will have a girl. I'm thinking this days what kind of future I wish to her, but I'm not sure. My own I'm not a boss and not a perfect and successful employee, but I live fine, yes, it always there is place for richer and better life. So, why not just to stay enough space for joy and to stay career making to those people who desire it with all of the heart?!
