To avoid having to copy and paste a thousand TxId's, let me make this all very easy for all of you.

https://blockchain.info/address/1BofXEuBSAbjwjhZuvxkoLJ9D8btpJ8knu

It will take you 3 clicks to get from the original address posted by davidbodger where he sent payment to here, then about 5 more clicks to see that they are funneling the bitcoin that they take in, directly back out to buy actual mining hardware from other suppliers. It only took me an hour of clicking on blockchain and goggling the addresses to see that they even bought Antminers from Sushi's group buy with the funds they have scammed people out of.

Congrats to anyone who sent them bitcoin, you have helped a scam artist get his first mining farm on your dollar.

They used a very piss poor mixing service too. took all of 5 minutes to find out that https://blockchain.info/address/14qGrXbPca2c4ejcKaWzvjhTK9MeHTcvtP is the address of the "partner" in this scam. seems to be holding exactly half of what has been scammed so far.

Not bad guys $115,000 in only a few months between all your scams. Crap, i need to quit my day job. If only i didnt have morals, i might hire you to teach me how its done.

THIS IS A SCAM: Reason below

No legitimate asic mining manufacturer is going to take the bitcoin they make from selling their own hardware, and turn around and use it to buy mining hardware from other manufacturers and even group buys.

Rest assured, that ANYONE who posts after this post claiming there is any legitimacy behind this company IS IN ON THE SCAM.

Carried over from the original thread.

If this is indeed a scam.  I will be the 1st to cry like a baby and like my wounds and move on.  But, I not not see where they are using those bitcoins to buy mining hardware.  I followed dozens of the links to the end and found nothing.  Help us out here.

I've messaged sushi Antminer seller here for his assistance.
I've given him links to this thread and asked him to post message if he could help or not.

What I thought he could do is firstly contact police or whoever you report these crimes to before sending miners and give them contact details and address.

I hope that proof of the BTC trail is good evidence for police to arrest these crooks.

Lets hope sushi sees my message and posts his thoughts here soon.

Thanks Raskul for bringing the Action Fraud website to my attention.
I have now logged my own report, as a victim.
Hopefully the more victims report this crime the more attention the police will pay to it.

When you get a response, it will certainly be worth mentioning that ctsminer had employed google adwords. Google will have credit card details.

the perpetrators (see post CTSMINER) should scan the qr code on this page twice (for regulators to decide after calculation) to recover firstly daveboger losses and others after, should there be found to be others;

www.stockpix.eu

it should request 25BTC (which CAN work alongside the payment it processes, which is a year of pictures to a newspaper.)

and everything is shown, cards on the table. It is possible to self-regulate.

About an hour after I posted this:

they closed the thread, said they were closing down their business and issuing refunds, as there was no interest in their products.

Coincidence? Fear of vaseline?

Some people wouldn't have had their help because they have them on ignore. Being open minded and tolerant of others pays .
Well done Agusto and Avenger.
Their analysis was spot-on. Yeah, we have not always seen eye-to eye... but both Augusto and Avenger are worth their weight in Gold-Pressed-Latinum with glitter sprinkles on-top, as is our anonymous friend at nasa.  They deserve ALOT of credit for this, even though it was refunded willingly.  Still waiting for your addresses, so I can send something.
Phoenix, I'm going to be a bit of an arsehole here, but as we are "new best friends", I'm sure you can handle that.

You've pm'ed me saying you'd "like to reward you and augusto with a small gift anyway" to say thanks for help.

Augusto and I provided info that lead you directly to the people involved. We assume you used that info, which lead to you getting a full refund. What am I missing? Are you now going to claim they would have refunded all your coins anyway, even if we hadn't tracked them down for you??

Even with an extremely large reward offered,...  no help. nada.
Assholes are all free, by the dozen.

I'll up the offer....   80%   of anything recovered    I've got nothing to lose at this point.

I'm no genius.  Just a database guy who created some products.  I also started a free email company back in the day and know a little bit about how the internet works.

Neptune Batch 1 was my 1st foray into Bitcoin.  CTS Scammer was my 2nd. I don't know squat about "block chains", which is why I am offering a 50% recovery commission for help.

I know you had two other people involved digging around too (your nasa person + 1). That makes Augusto, me and those two people in for a lot more than a "small gift"? WTF?

From copied and pasted from other thread, unable to save/quote it beyond however a locked thread is saved/quoted (will try and also take s screen shot):

"All,

My name is Michael and CTS was a project I started which went seriously wrong very quickly.
The aim was to bring a mining product to market which unfortunately didn't work out at all.

I quickly closed CTS Miner, as it was beginning to be looked at as a scam.
I had four people who pre-ordered miners from me and three of these have now been refunded fully as per the refund policy I had posted on the website.
I am awaiting a reply from the last person and will refund them as soon as I hear from them.

I am posting this message here with sadness and total regret of even starting this and am very sorry I was unable to deliver.
It was a project that I took on that was just far too big for me to handle and yes, this forum tore it to shreds.

A huge lesson learnt from me and apologies again to everyone involved.
Michael"

EDIT: Have no idea how to upload an image, but I do have one. Noob = me.

Old thread is old, and original old thread is locked up in the archive, but seeing as this popped up while I was checking for more ASIC bits and pieces (just when you think you're 'done'...), I got completely hooked on that thread.

Others there already commented on the intrigue, the plot twists, etc.

I just went in there to get details to make a remark on it being a rare case of a scammer returning the funds to the pre-order people with a seemingly humble mea culpa of sorts.  I was even going to check if they got more back in fiat than they put in (may or may not have been the case, depending on exact order time and whose exchange rate's being consulted).  But to do so, I first had to find the transactions as not everybody was forthcoming.

In doing so, I noticed something odd... and I'm thinking I probably missed something obvious, but anyway:
usertstamp
payment
davebodger2014-01-24 11:42:17
Phoenix19692014-01-25 07:09:25
2014-01-25 18:40:34

3rac32014-01-25 20:54:33
gokou20012014-01-26 04:33:45

There was no mention of it in the original thread, but looking at mauiflipper's transactions: 8.93+8.93 = 17.86, not 17.7602.  That's BTC0.0998 that stuck around at CTS.  At the time that would have been approximately $8.  So not exactly something to get rich off of - it's only the surrounding story that made it interesting.

Now, for most of these threads, I work my way back.  There's no point trying to get figures from page 1 and browse on to page 100 if pages 31, 42 and 59 have updated data that override the earlier pages.

So color me surprised when I came across this post from mauiflipper:
Maui (Daryl)
1GzBFMvgrLYZRBVrjTV431pVDwT8CJM4Ed (8.9301 btc)
19Hbw5bwag6wjHGmHPvZ1zSPdjAY9GQHoo (8.8301 btc)

8.9301+8.8301 = 17.7602.  That checks out.
Did I make a mistake somewhere?  Naw, source is the blockchain, that can't be wrong.  Plus I did read early on (as it's the page I landed on while looking for their logo) that he claimed to have purchased two units:
I bought two units, because I did enough research to make me believe that they are real.
Why would two units be different prices?  Perhaps an exchange rate fluctuation - I shrugged it off, duplicated the tab, and set it aside for another glance later.

Later came sooner than I thought, because then I ran into this post:

And that most certainly reads 8.93 for both transactions during 'processing' as well.

So if everything points to payments of 8.93, but mauiflipper says it should have been 8.9301+8.8301, but the addresses provided didn't make these transactions, then what addresses/transactions did include that amount?

All of the initial payment transactions made their way to 1MLTfBmQ42eTSG5vr4JuSqfHeG13NuygDe.
The funds sent from the above addresses always end in one common address:
https://blockchain.info/address/1MLTfBmQ42eTSG5vr4JuSqfHeG13NuygDe

And that address certainly has no transactions for 8.9301 or 8.8301.  In fact, no transaction during that period has those exact amounts as far as the blockchain is concerned.  17.7602 only pops up at the time of the refunds.  17.86 - in case mauiflipper was refunded earlier and paid again separately - doesn't pop up at all.

So where did those numbers come from?  And why did CTS use that number instead of 17.86?  They refunded everybody else exactly, even those who hadn't posted their transactions/amounts.
I have absolutely no idea.  Only mauiflipper could possibly answer some of that.

I still feel it was very fishy
Couldn't agree more.  But hey, it's a year old, and most of the people involved in one way or another disappeared Smiley
