From my side looking to this, Bitcoin can easy reach more than 19k, and yea there was people who was buying the BTC at price of 19k. Bealive me!
How can you know that bitcoin is able to reach more than $19,000 USD easily? The values of bitcoin have already dropped so much in just one year time and it is not even above $4,000 USD per bitcoin at the moment, I think a lot of investors are still waiting for the official approval of a Bitcoin ETF from the SEC department, so it might be a long wait before we see a return of the bull market.

i hear alot of rumors about sec/etf that they will accept bitcoin from this year ( 2019 )  but as i said earlier it was only a mere rumor   .   we dont exactly know the dates if when will it happen but one thing for sure , the price can possibly sky rocket easily from 19k usd .   about the question if there are still people that buys btc at ath of course yes .  many people keeps on buying btc no matter what it is its value because in thier head ,  btc can always increase from time to time   .

i heard a lot of story where they buy bitcoin at the top before it falling down. Some has lose house to buy bitcoin some lose all their saving. to me that fault is because they have not enough knowledge to know about how the market are move and when is the correct time to buy and to hold on. Common mistake by a newbie in this cryptocurrency market.

You cannot say that they lost a lot until they have not sold and booked loss, if they hold for some more time then they can can profit when the price will start moving. If they have got some investment then it is the correct time to buy more and average the price.

My friend also bought in the range of $17k to $18k but last week he bought more when the market hit $3k level and when it hit $4k+ he sold it in little profit, So this way if you do trading then you can be in profit.

Hey so you're saying that your friends who purchased bitcoins at it's peak, sold it off as prices were falling and incurred losses?. Those kind of sellers are called panic sellers, and you should not make a decision based on their sales. If you're not aware let me make you understand there was no actual loss, the loss was only on paper and they had to hodl it and once prices rebounded then they could sell for profits.

Bitcoin's price actually reached a peak of $20,089 on 17th December 2017. Check the old statistics from coinmarketcap using the below link,

https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bitcoin/historical-data/?start=20171201&end=20171231

I know a few people from my office who used their credit cards to buy bitcoin during that time. Majority of them have paid off their credit card bills using their salary and forgotten about their coins. It is still lying in some online wallet they had used and they are not anymore interested in bitcoin or cryptocurrency. I guided two of them to cut their losses through localbitcoins website so that they can get back whatever is remaining. But none of them seem interested in jumping to this market anymore!

This is what happens when you jump on to something out of pure greed and hype, without understanding on how it actually works!

I saw a lot of people on youtube crying for buying at that price, and there are also unpublished buyers, people tend to buy on momentum, and that was a costly momentum but it's a lesson learned for all of us, do not be to hurry and study when and how to invest.

I think there are some investors who are patiently waiting for the price of Bitcoin to rise up again to $20,000 but most of them maybe sold their bought Bitcoin already at a loss. Happy for me I didn't bought Bitcoin at that price because at that time, I'm just starting to learn Bitcoin and cryptocurrency in general. I think those investors right now are not investing in Bitcoin anymore because of what happened to them #sad.

$19,086 is a record of Bitcoin in 2017. Don't think that the $19,086 purchaser must be a loss. If we can see the bright future of Bitcoin, then I believe that one day the price of Bitcoin will be more than $19,086, maybe even $100,000.

According to some posts here on forum, yes, there are some and I suppose they are very frustrated. Some of them have already sold their coins and accumulated loss that would be hard to recover. Some were maybe more patient and kept their coins so they still have the chance to turn loss into profit.
To my opinion the main mistake at that period were too big expectations and too big greed for profit. Some even predicted that Bitcoin will go up all the way to 50000$, which was exaggerated, but some beleived and bought Bitcoin at 19000$.

There is no doubt that since bitcoin's ATH has reached 19k, then there must be a transaction, and someone must buy it at 19k, otherwise we will not see the 19k record, I have to 19k for those People who bought Bitcoin said, don't worry, the price drop is only temporary, after 2-3 years, Bitcoin will exceed the price of 19k.

- Well, those people have followed the trend of the market but one thing is very sad when they have chosen the wrong time and the price they bought, they do not have too much knowledge and analysis, they listen to information from others, and sum up all those factors, they go to a wrong path and they need to lose a lot of money for that lesson. But after this lesson, if they can stand up and learn more about crypto, learn more about investment, their loss will soon recover, and someday, they can achieve profit without bitcoin back to $19k

I have a friend who already bought bitcoin when the price at $19k but in that time, I advised not to buy 1 bitcoin directly because it's too dangerous and it's too risky. He follows my step, and he purchased 0.2 btc at the local exchange, but he split into 4x buy order and held, but unfortunately, he said that he needs to go to other cities because of his job and he cannot always stay at the front of his laptop. So I suggest to him to move his bitcoin to ledger nano ( he is a rich person guys Cheesy ), so he bought that wallet and moved his bitcoin.

The last time we communicate was at one month ago, and he said that the btc price dropped significantly and he doesn't know what suppose to do. I said, no need to worry, you don't make any buy since your last purchase, and it's been a year he doesn't check his wallet, and I told him that his btc is safe in the wallet.

They know about bitcoin before or they just come and bitcoin with the thought of making quick money. They need to research deep before doing that or this will happen.

Of course there will be people who bought at the ATH. Hopefully they’re HODLING & waiting for the price to go back to that range in a few years. Patience is required, selling at huge losees makes no sense.

Those who buy Bitcoin for 19k may now be crying, but look at those who bought Bitcoin in the past, some bought Bitcoin for $100 in 2013 and lost more than 80% in 2014 , if they have enough patience to hold Bitcoin until 2017, they can still get very huge returns.

I know for sure the feelings of your friends when you see the condition of bitcoin prices at this time must be very surprised and make his heart beat faster than before because he bought bitcoin at a very expensive price and now the price of bitcoin falls very deep, I'm sure he has regrets for buying at a high price, but there is no other way if he sells it then all he gets is a loss.

I hope your friend does not panic and does not sell it at cheap prices like now.

I remember buying some BTC when Bitcoin was at its highest, but that doesn't say much.
I've been buying Bitcoin almost every week, since around 2013, so naturally I also buy when the price is high.

When I buy Bitcoin, it's not just for holding it, I also use part of it.
Whenever I buy food online, I pay with Bitcoin and I used to be able to buy call credit with Bitcoin, but they removed that option.
