A user here threatened to multi fork Gamecoin within 24 hours. What can we do?

Whats the big deal. Let him try to fork it. If hes successful than he has done you a service because now you know that your software is flawed and thats the first step towards fixing it. Its called stress testing. Many systems PAY for stress testing. If he tries and fails then no harm done.

Seeing as I'm currently getting a fleet of PMs regarding this I have no interest in getting into the middle of this dispute. I didn't create GameCoin, I merely revived what was a dead coin and there is nothing fundamentally wrong with the code. Sure it could be checkpointed to invalidate the fork but it will accomplish nothing whilst there is someone determined to keep attacking the coin.

If you guys can't be bothered combating it by actually mining the coin and choose to antagonize someone with a proven track record of attacking coins (including GME) in the past then just let it die.

I just thumped it for about 30 minutes as a demonstration and nothing more.

I don't want to kill GME, why do you think I gave you a 24 hour notice and enough time to set some check points.

I have bigger and better things to do but don't push your luck.

Its a good test for the new checkpointing stuff from PPC the IsSyncCheckpointEnforced() stuff that was new to help with this kind of situation.

Sorry, but the people who bought GME without realizing there was a vulnerability in the blockchain didn't do their homework.  That's their own fault.  

People should take the time to do proper research in coins before putting real money into them.

if 500mhash can push this coin off the cliff, then it was overvalued to begin with.  Its poor network hashrate makes gamecoin an insecure investment.

I think you can have morals and make money in crypto at the same time.
With all the experience over the months and the people I know, I could launch a nicely marketed niche coin in a few days and make a crapload of money while doing it. Why don't I ? Because it would basically mean I steal money from gullible people who think it's a great investment.

Just because people don't do their due diligence and are, well, generally ignorant fools, doesn't mean it's right to destroy their property or steal from them.

" That's how trading currency is ! " " We're all adults here " " That's capitalism ! " ---- all excuse to let greed or pride guide your decision making. If you have balls and can look at yourself honestly, it's pretty clear.
