I was out of gambling for a while because of my emotional gambling nature.
I try to do sports betting as mathematical as possible but often I get overwhelmed by loss.
I had decided not to bet above $100 on any bet.
Germany being my favorite team, I put a $500 bet against Mexico, which I lost.
That increased my frustration and I came to bet $1000 on portugal. And to my luck I won it at 1.65 odds.
But if I would have lost, I would have been cashless and betless for the rest of world cup.

One of my friends lost a considerable amount at the casino playing Black Jack. The next week, he got an insurance going to his hands, and guess what: he also lost that.
True story unfortunately.
That is why having the confidence while betting can be fatal most of the times but he lost his affordable money I think,we need to only gamble with our spendable money not the money which is needed for our daily life routine so guys understand that gambling is for fun not as business.

I prefer to divide the money that we needed for our daily life and for gambling than to spend the money on just gambling. I think it is better than we can think that we still need that money to continue our life for buying something and we should know that if we are stays in the gambling, we can lose the money that we have. I am sure that we have our own gambling addiction stories and I hope that it is just the experience that we have in the past and for now and in the future, we can control our mind and our emotion when we are playing gambling.

Why do you keep betting when you literally put everything on the line?
That's straight up addiction when you place stupid bets like that, betting almost an entire months wage.

I'd definitely take some time off and reflect whether you still want to continue gambling after that.

All I remember I was in college and suddenly we tuned into a FIFA match, and we harmlessly put a bet of 10$ I have absolutely zero idea when those bets turned to 1000 and once mad bet of 10000 (I had zero funds was deep down in gambling debt decided to take a risk call and it paid off). I do occasionally gamble but now I'm able to control it, once you learn the fear of loosing your life is when you suddenly are able to control yourself.
the story is pretty good indeed if we trace the gamblers started out of curiosity and dabbled when there is an incident like this when he got the gamble gain then he will try it again and continue until such that he eventually became an addict for the benefit large enough.
In my community a person lost his house after losing all the money. The problem was that the house was not his alone. His brothers and sisters also owned the house. The gang came to his house and told his brother to leave the house. His brother went to their father and told him that this house is not owned only by my brother. Please leave us. Gang father ordered to put the loser to death.

I've heard a somewhat similar story from an acquaintance of mine, but without gangs being involved.
Husband had taken out an extra mortgage for his house and various other loans to fund his gambling addiction.

A couple of months, maybe years down the road his wife find out and they end up having to sell their house.
Last I've heard they're living with one of their parents and husband went into therapy for his addiction.
Nice one. That is simply a lot to take in and the wife must really have loved the husband to have gone through all the thick and thin to still stick with him, because in this day and age when divorce is now something that people do not even blink an eye before proceeding, most especially in the western world, that would have made him to lose even his family. Addiction is a very bad thing, and this was one thing that made an uncle of mine ended up becoming a huge liability before he ended up dying penniless.

Well I don’t consider it more than a lucky game. It is like lottery that you have invested something in it and now you are just picking out some receipt. This might have got your name on the board or you may be just going with off mode. Don’t rely on luck and following this we know if we consider those options, we might lose our wealth. So better is to thing over it and make good decisions.

Hmm. Once you understand there is a great chance of losing, the more you will be able to control the decisions you make. Nice one, even though I did a bit of rephrasing. The thing is a lot of people usually do not see the fact that relying too much on the outcome of gambling being positive is actually a very huge problem on its own and that can mar the person completely.

So it is better not to get too overwhelmed with winnings or emotional about losing and as long as you know it is not something you should be too attached to, you will know how to manage yourself.
I think when the gambler will come to know this thing that the chances of losing in gambling are much more than winning, I think not only he will leave gambling but also will come out of these financial crises that he has been suffering from years. But when I see people the way they are gambling in casinos with such a spirit, it seems impossible to me that they will stop.

I quit gambling long time ago when I was on the verge of becoming an addictive gambler. I used to gamble regularly with my friends and I found it entertaining until it started to affect my studies and social life. Then, I tried to reduced my gambling activities.

Then, I got rid of it completely as I got used to the new routine. It was hard from the beginning, but then you will get used to it because your time is filled up with other various activities
That's good to hear, you overcome your addiction to gambling. I am also like that before, I can't continue my life if I can't play gambling in a day, I always invited my friends, cousins and also siblings to play with me and bet, they also want it too because they are also just like me, when I finally notice that I am losing and just wasting my time every day, every single day of my life is just a waste of time, I am thinking to have another activity to have, then after that I also reduce my gambling games every day, until I totally stop playing with them.  Grin For now, I sometimes play but not that addicted just like before.

I hear sports betting is skill-based game but i never hear any person winning through it. One of my friend used to bet in cricket matches, most of time he used to loose money in cricket betting. I dont know why he is loosing money even though he is very skilled person.

You should feel lucky that you where able to recover the lost amount and made some profit out of it. Now do not spend those whole amount on betting unless you have extra money and can afford to lose it. Just if you cannot control yourself only play with those extra profit.

That's pure luck and i would say it makes no sense to bet with your emotions because Germany is your team and so they are going to win every game without you examining the current strength of the German team. This world cup has been unpredictable from the start and there's no consistency and so it will be a great mistake to keep going all out like that. If he continues this way i bet he would burn out even before the round of 16.

Oh damn. You lost a lot of money with that and nobody expected that in my opinion too. It’s just that you should bet how much you could lose. The emotions are definitely a factor on how you react or respond to something, especially when it’s connected to money. I hope you have learned a lesson there.

Basically all gambling games will be very influential on a fortune. Nothing can be ascertained when playing gambling. If your friend is much more experienced and you think your friend will get much better results then it is a wrong thought. The game of gambling will not see our ability because all things related to the result of playing gambling hangs by a luck.

But on some sort there are really games which other experienced gamblers do have edge among others just like on poker. We do know how this thing works and i can definitely say experience is a must to manage your hand,if not then expect would be the outcome. Addiction cant really be avoided on all kind of gambling games because this would be entire depending on a certain player. If the can handle himself and sensible enough on his actions then tendency would really be less. When it comes to stories for sure there are lots of it but having the same outcome neither broken lives or commit suicide because of debt.

It's a dangerous habit, but it's a habit non the less so if you can't avoid it, it's better to try to control it. A good way is to put yourself limits. For example time limit if you play active games like Poker,BJ,slots etc etc. You can say 1 hour for example and then you go home,or 2 hours or just anything that you can stick to without crossing the line. Other good strategy is to put yourself profit/losses limit. For example tell yourself : "I start with $100. I either make them $200 and leave or make them $0 and leave". Don't get too greedy because in the end "the house always wins" and don't get too desperate and risk more and more money. Tell yourself "tomorrow is a different day. Things will be better. Don't lose too much today.". It is better to avoid that gambling loophole in general, but if you are stuck in it and don't plan on leaving - then learn to control yourself as much as possible and avoid tilting at all costs.
Yeah and the reason is that a gambler has no respect in society and all the people hate him even his family do not like a him. Controlling for a regular and addicted gambler is very hard but it is possible to stop gambling gradually. Strong determination is needed to quit gambling addiction. It is hard but not impossible. If a gambler thinks of his future he can quit gambling.
I know the main reason behind this fact for which I think a real life gambler has no respect in the society and that is reason is that because these gamblers are conducting something which is portrayed negatively almost everywhere and the people think that how the person who is conducting such a criminal like activity can be good in his life.

Maybe this story has nothing with cases of real gambling addiction, but this days somewhere in Scotland opened a hospital which treat crypto addiction, yes, crypto one, there  is such apparently. Does anyone know of details of this story or examples of crypto addiction? Some people compare investing g and trading g of crypto currencies with gambling, so I think it has some contact with gambling addiction example.
I got a glimpse of this story few days ago and then I kept worrying what the whole idea is all about. How can investing in any way be compared to addiction ? I am not sure though, since while some people are investing, they actually do it with no knowledge and they make silly mistakes whatsoever by going in too big and then afterwards trying all means to recover from the volatility loss they have had or is this just a way from the hospital to send some message regarding how crypto can actually come with addiction ?

If it is by that, then I can as well say I am addicted to crypto since it makes life easier for me in terms of payment and I sure do not wish to get out of the addiction.
Your story is not according to the topic. The topic is about gambling stories and you told crypt addicted story. Anyhow it is nonsense and it means that the staff of that hospital in not in favor of crypto and they think it is not good for health. That’s why they think that crypto is an addiction and it should be treated. I am also crypto addicted and more happy than that hospital staff.

without gambling in your life you could give lots of time for your family, but for those addicted with it it may take lots of time to remove the habits. We should analyze those scenarios that gives lots of reasons why you're getting addicted to gambling, and nothing could replace the family so as sort of friendly advice here; please avoid being stuck with gambling. Reconciliation for your maried life as a family man should be done in order for us to gain back the trust that has been lost due to addiction.
Gambling generally does not bring much to the table anyway and for me, rather than paying for something that would give me heartache, headache and so many aches at the same time, I would rather go use that funds to go catch some fun that would at least make me feel more relaxed, enjoy myself and get the best value of what I paid for.

Gambling addiction is normal as hardly will you see people who gamble for fun, unless we just want to deceive ourselves, the only difference is that some are able to control themselves in most cases by understanding the reality.

Sports betting is a skill-based gambling but don't think only your experience and skills will help you to win your bets you must need the luck to win your bet.
For me, $100 is also big amount but you can afford this money then it's good, maintain the same amount don't get exist and bet more.
martingale strategy will work but not every time.

I hear sports betting is skill-based game but i never hear any person winning through it. One of my friend used to bet in cricket matches, most of time he used to loose money in cricket betting. I dont know why he is loosing money even though he is very skilled person.

I think sports betting is skill-based because we need to have the knowledge to win the games because when we choose the teams, we need to know everything about teams so we can know the chance to win the games. besides that, our chance to choose the games is bigger and we have a chance to win the games too. but don't forget, we need to know how much money that we want to use to spend on sports betting.

I am happy that I have no interest in Football  so there is no question of betting on these matches.

I had some interest in cricket in past but I never made any bet on them also using nay betting website. Now I hardly  get time to even see any sports so betting is not an option for me.
