Eventually they learned they lesson and are still winning big time by betting at only matches they know more about.

That is really sad to hear because people are losing so much money and that too it is not that they are super rich and it wont effect them. People try to make money from gambling and forgetting that hardly few only win and rest of them will lose their money.

Here I can only see such stories about gambling where most of the people have only lost money. in few cases I can see that some people have made a little money from gambling while most of the are lost a lot of their money. so we can conclude the result here is gambling is one of the most difficult way of making money.

Actually making money from gambling is easy if you are able and have known the game well, but to achieve experience and hours of flying in gambling takes time so you will lose a lot of money at that time. And there are still other challenges after you make a lot of money from gambling, which is greed that keeps you playing and will eventually lose too.

When you are spending all of your time to casino, does it mean that as in everyday you are going there? I have read same stories before that they are even renting a house nearby to the casino so they can just go there anytime they want and that's the real intention of renting that house. People who are undergoing with that mindset is literally addicted to gambling. Some of them became successful but many of them lead to miserable life and became bankrupt.

and if you can think that playing gambling can waste your time and you can get lost the money, you need to learn how to stop and quit gambling. no matter it is hard, you need to always try to stop playing gambling and I am sure that in the end, you can avoid playing gambling and you can use your time for the other things which can give you another benefit. it is better to focus in another field so we can have a chance to produce something useful for our life.

Once you win with the beginners luck you feel addicted into it and specially into sports betting.

In majority of the cases people realize this only when they either suffer huge losses or when they are out of everything like all savings gone , took some money from friends and cannot repay it etc. Thus feels bad for such people who cannot understand such a simple thing that enjoy the moment and not go for money making form gambling.

Just curious to read some addict or former addict stories and probably some of us like me will be glad to see how things actually did roll in for them during this period and I believe some other persons tending towards that path can also learn from it. Also, if you have a friend or relative you can speak for, it would be appreciated.

Personally, this is what I would like to know though.

1. How did you find yourself ending up to become an addict? What instigated it to the point that you just found yourself not being able to control the impulse any longer? What was the feeling like and during those period of being an addict, did you know and were you willing to pop out of it?

2. What were the steps you took or the steps you are taking to get out from it, and on the scale of 1 to 10, how can you rate how you are doing now?

3. For those who are out of it, do you still gamble or still wish you could? In the case where you are still gambling, how do you want to make sure what happened initially does not end up repeating itself.

4. Any other thing you feel you can add is welcome.

I remember one time while waiting for the noche buena to come, I invite my cousins to play a card game and the whole night what we did is to just play any card games and we are unstoppable.
1) i know I am already addicted when I can't help myself to stop playing and betting online and or even in offline.
2) in the scale of 1 to 10, I am happy to tell everybody that I am in the stage of 10 that means I successfully eliminate my gambling addiction.
3) yes I still want to gamble but this time I have to know my limits so that I will not end up addicted again.

you can make a living off it if you have a godlike luck, people get delusional sometimes they think they can get the things they want if they keep reaching for it same goes for addicted gamblers, not only they think they can make a living off it gambling also offers a different kind of thrill where you dont easily find it.

This too happens with me. Sometimes i have nothing with me whenever i go more deeply into any gamble and i mostly loose everything over there causing a lot of hectic for me as well as my family. My wife actually restricts me a lot from gambling and if she found me gambling now, she seriously goes much wild. 

I do gamble yet but in some small fixed amounts and quit gambling the game as soon as all my allocated funds for gambling are finished. By this way, sometimes i also have some profits and i do not loose those profits for re-gambling so it is really good.

Gambling should not be taken much seriously because it can make us a man with nothing. Always try to allicated a small part of your earnings for gblimg if you cannot go far from it. This is the way i use for gambling now.

That is not a good conclusion, first we find out who is gambling whether the person is capable or unable in the sense of knowledge or implementing strategies to play intelligently, maybe you only see focus on one point if you know there are lots of people out there considering gambling As a field of profit and not just playing and wasting time is a very wrong thought, when talking about benefits is quite realistic at the moment because it is an obligation, what I think is that everyone can make a big profit in gambling, if smart in utilizing all opportunities.

Certainly, some people know that, just that some are so adamant and so fond of what they want to believe in that facing the reality becomes a very difficult option for them. It is an easy thing, admit that there is nothing much you are getting from gambling and be ready to live with that, or simply just stay away if you know you cannot live with the idea of losing at all as this is the case where a lot of people usually have problem, and better you are in control from the start, than trying to gain control back at the end.

Is it not even good if you realize where you have gone wrong after losing badly? A lot of people tend to push their luck further, hoping in some way they can still be able to recover what they have lost and then the ability to control that impulse as they keep losing keeps becoming hard and difficult. For someone who is able to quickly get a grasp of them-selves, it is indeed a very good start to being in control over your mistakes and making necessary amendments.

A story that gambling addiction occur is when my friend told me about her father.  Her father came from above average family.
But her father is a gambler,  at first he just spent his extra money in playing until he forget his limit.  Until he sell everything he have just to fund his gambling. 

When he have nothing to sell and he became poor his family and daughter left him.

It is ok to gamble but always remember to discipline your self and dont waste your everything.

Museums are great but your kids being in a field trip is also great since they can be able to communicate with other kids, they can have a lot of memorable experiences that they will eventually tell you on the time they got home from these field trips. "Experience is knowledge", as my teacher on psychology taught us, it is important for them so prioritize them than your gambling.

I want to tell you a short story of my friend who was gambling addicted for years. One day he lost some money in gambling but he was very upset. He came to me and asked for some money because he was very frustrated and wanted his money back on the same day. I gave him some money and lost that also. Then he lost his house and his one shop situated in prime location. Then he committed suicide.

No one should neglect the children cause of anything, especially cause of the gambling. There are many similar stories with drug addicts, some people are selfish and they think just about themselves, they don`t care about others and what they do to others with their behavior. I gamble for more than 10 years, and in that time my private life never suffered cause of the gambling. I believe that addicts are people with weak minds, people who doesn`t have control over their emotions and actions. There are too many sad stories in this thread, it`s good that some people are willing to share their gambling addiction stories, that can be very helpful to other people, everyone should read about this and to not allow themselves to get to deep into any addiction, especially gambling addiction, which is one of the worst ones, it gets directly into the mind and it`s hard to get out from that.
