Bitcoin Blender is shutting down. Please withdraw. This is unfortunate news. The service was great, I will miss it. I don't know anything about the management of BitBlender or where it they are based, but I can only imagine this has something to do with same troubles plaguing the folks at BestMixer. My hope is that BitBlender and other mixing services can find a hospitable location to base their businesses and servers.

If you are on the internet, like the EUROPOL said; "You are not anonymous." I wouldn't be surprised if chipmixer suddenly leaves the business too. Come to think of, bitmixer.io used to be the biggest mixer and they left the business just like that, without a reason, at least not shared with the public. They want to leave before they get raided by the armed mercenaries of the government. Makes sense, life is too short to spend in a jail cell.

If you are on the internet, like the EUROPOL said; "You are not anonymous." That's just a propaganda/scare tactic. It's not even that hard to stay reasonably anonymous today. The problem is when you get comfortable (among other things); that's when these people make mistakes and they catch them. I wouldn't be surprised if chipmixer sudenly leaves the business too. Come to think of, bitmixer.io used to be the biggest mixer and they left the business just like that, without a reason, at least not shared with the public.
These mixers really should public their code online. That would make it relatively easy for clones to pop up and someone with better opsec might pick it up one day. In the meantime, use Wasabi.

Why would anyone run anything on a 32 bit system anymore? Upgrade, it is cheap. Supporting 32-bit is a waste of resources. We are going off-topic with this discussion here, Bitblender is gone for good but should have just locked their ANN too.

And what is wasabi? Other than the Japanese green paste I eat on my sushi, googling "wasabi software" didn't bring me anything relevant, though there were too many results to check them all. Personally however I don't agree with any service which helps hide criminal actions; sure mixing services have more uses than just helping criminals but ... I don't really know how to feel about this situation. I'm sure people will eventually come up with something else which will be harder to bring down, after all FIOD did the community a great gift by seizing the bestmixer's domain and letting everyone know they're not safe and that they should build a counter. They could have keep the mixers running as honeypots and grab the criminals when they though they were safe, it'd probably take a long time for people to realise that these services were compromised.

This is nonsense. True criminals can use other methods to have much stronger anonymity. What they mix with mixers is not what they really need to hide. Making mixers illegal harms the non-criminal more than the criminal.

Making mixers illegal harms the non-criminal more than the criminal. True criminals will run his own mixer, hidden from the public. They are not interested in profit through fees. It's not about profits, I was not talking about this kind of criminal actions. Bitcoin is used in the Dark Web's black markets to purchase hacking services, drugs, illegal pornography and many other unthinkable things, if you don't know about it then Google it, it's an interesting subject (though it's also a scary one). And running your own mixer is not really a solution, if all you're mixing is your own transactions or if a bunch of criminals come together to mix their transactions, it would only get easier for them to get caught. I don't know what "other methods" could someone use as Lauda mentioned, maybe non-BTC methods? I would guess that moving fiat around would be more anonymous... the only BTC method I can think of is mixing... or use GRIN I guess?

From the owner perspective, mixers like this one are mostly about profit otherwise the fee would be 0.1% (or just enough to cover hosting costs and consolidation) to encourage liquidity. Bitcoin is used in the Dark Web's black markets to purchase hacking services, drugs, illegal pornography and many other unthinkable things, if you don't know about it then Google it, it's an interesting subject (though it's also a scary one).
"Unthinkable things"? Most of the stuff on the dark web (excluding e.g. child pornography) is nobody's damn business, especially victimless crimes. They are nothing in comparison to what crimes the government commits, especially the United States of Stupid. And running your own mixer is not really a solution, if all you're mixing is your own transactions or if a bunch of criminals come together to mix their transactions, it would only get easier for them to get caught.
It wouldn't make it easier to get caught. You don't know how fungibility works and why people get caught. I don't know what "other methods" could someone use as Lauda mentioned, maybe non-BTC methods? I would guess that moving fiat around would be more anonymous... the only BTC method I can think of is mixing... or use GRIN I guess?
Right, you don't know. If you don't know, then you ask or do research. Don't suggest a garbage coin like Grin. Step one use Wasabi, step two use Monero, step three only swap OTC via OTR.

Damn, look like there is a mixers hunt. In 2 years we got Bitmixer, Bestmixer and this one. Coinmixer, I don't remember to read an explanation but I suppose they closed for the same reason as Bitmixer and Bit.blender. They felt the wind blowing in the opposite direction. I suppose too now the Darwin theory will apply: only the effective mixers will be able to survive.

Well, the only left seems to be ChipMixer... Now let's see... There is another one bitcloak mixer but they are not in the process of runing away, since they are trying to do something to prevent criminals to use their service. Important Feature Proposal:
Blacklist funds from and to specific bitcoin addresses.
Contact us with a btc/bch address you want to blacklist from the mixer and a valid reason, this can be stolen funds, scammers, frauds, or anything that crosses your own line. We do not want to research, moderate or choose if an address gets blacklisted, we only provide the tool.
The mixer could block inputs AND outputs closely related to an address, meaning no funds coming from that address will be processed and no payouts sent. 100% of funds received would be automatically returned.
This feature should be implemented by all mixers to be more effective. We want to avoid bad situations like bestmixer while still offering a 100% functional mixer to users in need of privacy. Addresses in the blacklist could expire monthly and require a simple email message to renew, this service is free.
Please let us know what you all think as this is important, is this feature ok for you? If no feedback, advice or tips will be posted here we will start to implement this after 24 hours. BitCloak

If you're an average user, sure. If you run a business which brings a lot of unwanted attention of well-funded adversaries, it's a significantly harder task.

I recently came to know about the shutting down process of bitblender, I had much coins saved onto it. I unfortunately missed the withdrawal warning as I was away for past few weeks. I am trying to access http://bitblendervrfkzr.onion/ for last 2~3 hours but I can not succeed. Anyone can help me get in touch with the owners/admin of them so that I can request a withdrawal, I can prove my account ownership with the help of PGP signature of addresses, username/password, etc. Please, I request all of you here. It was all my savings. Thanks!
