When I am in the middle of typing a reply/post, at random times the whole post clears, I had to type this in Word and copy and paste, what is going on?

No, I never faced such issue.

I will suggest keep pressing "Preview" button more frequently, because it will save your post in Drafts.

Later you can access it here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=drafts and just copy paste it on the original topic.

Also if you lost after pressing Post button, then press Browser Back Button (chrome recommended) and you should see your post.

May be you are hitting the newbie restriction.

How long do I need to wait between forum posts?
Waiting time between forum posts is calculated with the following formula:
Code:
activity = min(time * 14, posts);
waittime = 360;
if(activity >= 15)
        waittime = (int)(90 - activity);
if(activity >= 60)
        waittime=(int)(34.7586 - (0.0793103 * activity));
if(activity >= 100)
        waittime = max((int)(14-(activity/50)), 4);

Try understanding this math. Hopefully it will make sense to you.

Is your browser auto refreshing? In that case may be something wrong with your browser or with the PC. I never heard of this but reading at your topic I assume your are referring to something like this.

Are you by any chance using Tor? Since that's one major issue with Cloudflare if I'm not wrong, if you take too long to type a post (which happens a lot with my longer posts) then the Cloudflare would cause some issues and my entire message would get deleted

Nope. I understand the math, I'm a developer, that doesn't help.

I am using a temporary PC as mine is awaiting a part, I think it is just that. Just wondering if it was a downtime. Thanks for your help.

Sometimes VPN will cause these kind of things so disconnect VPN and login to forum then you will never get any issues.Some browsers are also comes in builtin VPN options so try to use Google chrome which I am using always has no problems whatsoever.

Would you happen to be using a new MacBook Pro with the Touch Bar at the top of the keyboard? It's a long shot, but I've had issues where I'd be posting a long reply here, and in the middle of my post, I hit a key (such as the '5' or '6' where my ring finger touches the "refresh" touch-button on the touch bar, which refreshes the entire page. Could this possibly be what's happening to you? Could it be that you're accidentally refreshing the page by hitting a refresh button?

Check the browser for add-ons as auto refresher that automatically refresh the page after a given time. If it's not your computer, it can have a lot of shit on it.
Try with another browser too, to identify the problem.

That's happened to me too.Actually many times already. Maybe it's because of the long typing on your post if you takes a long time before you post your reply maybe it can be deleted.

Finally something satisfactory. I was not aware of this kind of auto refreshers. Why do anyone even need an auto refresher at the first place?

update:
I needed to be logged in a page for some reason...

Ahhh... a possible use-case Grin
Did not want to create another post to ruin my 1000 posts celebration this fast LOL

I personally used one many years ago, but don't remember for what Cheesy. I needed to be logged in a page for some reason but it was more than 10 years ago I cannot recall Wink
I remember that it was some kind of troubleshooting, but what it was...
