My opinion is not much different with your view, mostly ICO fails or scam & very hard to find out a good ICO. But it didn’t mean that you have to stop to take part in any ICO.
You have to try your best to join a good repo ICO & to find out a good ICO you have to deeply study about the project as well about the team.

More than 80% ICOs not landed on good exchanger. Most of it is scam ICOs. There is good ICOs but we must selecting ICOs before decide to join on it. I am prefer buying coin/token in market or exchanger.
