Anyone here from 1GH?  Forgive me for my ignorance, I am a noob and am wondering if I'm just wasting my time trying to mine with these few servers that I have.

I had no success mining with the cpuminer released from the devs and also with the qt app someone posted.

Also,

Can I use the wallets that where originally set up when I ran the devs apps & the QT?  I haven't set up a new wallet since running this 1GH minerd_start batch file and I don't know if and how I will be credited with any mining that I may contributing.

If this is a worthwhile endeavor, I'd like to simply things by only having one wallet... hopefully merge the 3 existing ones into one. Or, I'd create a new one for this 1GH pool if the previous ones are useless

1. Download MaxCoin wallet from http://maxcoin.co.uk/
2. Copy the address from your MaxCoin-QT wallet ("Receive" tab)
3. Replace our demo address with yours in the .bat file.
4. Start the miner.
5. Check your earnings at http://max.1gh.com/

Much better coins than this one to direct your hashes to!  Burned out on this one with the multiple failed launches, quite a scam after all.  Don't help the untalented and greedy developers make any $ off of you - just go to another fair coin out there.

Ah at the moment newer upcoming coins may be USDE, Smart, and a few others.  Coinwarz of course list them higher right now due to lower difficulty but if you even take the time to check out their launches, websites, plans, then they seem better off.  I like USDe right now.

Just as comparison: I also have one server with 8 cores (16 with HT), ans it's doing about 12k hash/s.
My Ati 280x is doing about 320k hash/s and Nvidia 560Ti about 60k hash/s.

This coin is a total failure:

• developers never heard about testnet, and launched coin in real net
• released untested binaries, that simply don't run, because developers haven't ever heard about static linking
• they don't know how to make releases using github release system, and just push zipped binaries
• they don't know how to prepare source code for compilation, and then push unprepared code to repository (figuring out how to compile that code took me about 15-30 minutes, and I'm one of those "skilled nerds")
• think about all other people who wanted to participate in launch, and don't know how to compile code
• official pool "max.rocketpool.co.uk" is stealing maxcoins http://www.reddit.com/r/maxcoinproject/comments/1xcfu2/maxrocketpoolcouk_are_currently_thieves/
• the only pool that really worked (for me at least) was max.1gh.com until it was DDoSed to oblivion, and official twitter response: https://twitter.com/maxcoinproject/status/431571916764483585  - that it is a scam. You call that a good communitation between developers upon launch??
• how hard would it be for maxcoin to reach out for people who wish to cooperate before launch. But no - it is better to find out live, who is interested in creating pools.
• majority of miners are botnet owners right now, I don't want to see the crash when they decide to cash out. I will not be here anyway.

I'm out. If I ever see any article about maxcoin in any major outlet, my response will be exactly what they deserved.
