ETH is the second best cryptocurrency we have in terms of volume. This means that it can be a good long term hodl. But yeah, not really sure about 5-10 years as this is cryptos.  ETH is coin which will not die instantly. So if market condition turns against ETH, you will know it and can take out your investment. But I feel ETH is here to stay. It has potential to grow in long term. It is best to go for hardware wallet if you are looking for long term hodl option.
