For me it should since the more you play the game the more you're getting good at it.

I totally agree with you.
But there are VR games that make a person go in for sports every day and sweat a lot. Isn't that enough?

I mean it's as hard and entertaining as normal sport. Don't see reason why it shouldn't become one

I would say no. I'm old school I guess, but I think a "sport" requires physical activity/exertion, not just pushing buttons.

Your opinion is absolutely correct, I agree with you.
I would cyber-sport rename cybergaming, how do you like the idea?

Perhaps you are right, I agree that video games and sports do not sound like that, but on the other hand, apart from sport, it’s not called, so I think it’s quite normal, the world doesn’t stand still, everything changes and it seems to the past generation thinks that it’s not normal.

There are many reasons why video games are not considered a sport. ... If video games would be considered a sport, so should chess and similar games. This is why video games are just considered games. Video games are not physical sports (they do not involve a physical activity) and cannot be compared to the latter

It should be considered a sport. It asks for skill that can be developed. Definition of sport is "An activity involving physical exertion and skill that is governed by a set of rules or customs and often undertaken competitively".

They are pretty much growing into a sport. So many people are watching in stadiums live or online to watch a bunch of people play a game together. Some big tournaments like DotA2, the International, end up with millions of viewers, it’s crazy.

Define sport... As a regular sport it shouldn't be considered if we take sport as a physical activity. If we take it as a game and a competition, then why not.

Video games should not be a sport. First sport  require physical activity, moving your hand all day and starring at a screen is not a sport.

I fully agree with you! It's even harmful for your health.

Quote
Sport (British English) or sports (American English) includes all forms of competitive physical activity or games which,[1] through casual or organised participation, aim to use, maintain or improve physical ability and skills while providing enjoyment to participants, and in some cases, entertainment for spectators.[2]

Games are improving skills, providing enjoyment to participants and most of times (in tournaments) entertainment for spectators. So this is cyber sport ))

Fully agreed as a former cybersportsmen. To win and even to achieve a remarkable result you need to work hard! Very hard.

Gaming requires a lot of skill --so yes, I'm in favor of turning it into a sport.

Don't consider it as a sport since there's not much physical activity involved.   Imagine video gaming in Olympic??  Nah!!!

Sport does not require physical activity , now there are sports that only brain and strategy is the key to a victory. Just like online games they prefer it now to be a sport because the key is strategy and fast hands , billiard also is a sport that does not require physical , its the cue itself and handles of a stick to win a game and also it takes strategy to win.

I think it's wery funny when someone claims that he is cybersportsman, but yes some video games are the real sport games

They actually also train your body and reaction. And you also able to receive some sport-related traumas Roll Eyes Grin
