Hello everybody,

I just want to inform you once again that there are scammers who use other's account name in bounties.
Here is in one picture 3 different tesla80 are exist. The other 2 are scammers who copied my profile URL to the bounty sheet.
It's good that the bounty manager finds them easily, but not every manager is good like him/her.
So be careful, some people earn money over your account.

I can not see the image even copying/pasting it in my browser. Would you care to upload the image in https://imgur.com. I am pretty sure same is going to happen for other members too.

Thanks

Wait something is not write in your logic.

You are wearing Tradelize's signature. On the image (http://prntscr.com/jq2amp click and see the arrow and compare with the current spreadsheet) I can see three tesla80. One is definitely you (12, looking at the current spreadsheet entry) the other two (28, 31) you are saying is not you. Say even the manager is not too dumb to identify the multiple entry for (say the others) the same user but when he will count the posts, don't you think he will notice it? He will be going to see every post 3 times LOL. A dumb won't be that much dumb not to notice it.

#Additional Case: You have not applied for the sig campaign...
You are not wearing the signature so the scammer will not get paid if he made an entry under your username

PS: I wonder is that really anyone else who entered the data at the first place? Logic does not back it up.

The question is what users can do to prevent this?
There will be such case, so nothing needed to prevent it  Smiley

lol actually good morning, there are several topics saying and proving that. Not only me, I just saw that and the manager saw it since he banned others and I wanted to inform others.
Not always we can think all the possible variations, sometimes others find a way and earn money over you.
For the signature, if the manager cannot see that, he will count the other accounts and he will send money to their addresses. I saw there are such managers doing that for himself, so he is registering fake names and he is approving them and send money to his ETH addresses.
Anyway, just make a research and you will see there are many people saying that, not only me.
Also sorry that I have informed you, you can just ignore this.

Ok in that case this is worse. Seems like I am the dumb one LOL

I never thought that a manager will not manually count the posts. Isn't it his job? How do they get the job at the first place? If these managers are doing this then they are literally playing (bad one) with their employers (ICO companies). This is not morally right.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3813034.msg37298788#msg37298788

Basicaly USERS MUST PUT eth address onder profile and a script autocheck it from spreadsheet if the 2 numbers are not the same the script autoreject the user.

You're preaching to the wrong people. It isn't the end users you need to get onboard... it's the campaign managers.

If the managers started enforcing these rules, then this sort of behaviour might stop. Personally, if I was running a campaign, I would make sure that all the users had their ETH addresses attached to their profiles... but it seems like currently, a lot of "managers" simply don't care enough... they still get paid and the projects still get their "advertising".

It seems the only real "losers" are the people who end up with all the shit on their facebook/twitter/telegram... and/or the other campaign participants who would then theoretically get a smaller share of the total payout.

This is a good idea to verify the ETH owner for the BitcoinTalk account.

I see the root is the ICO companies. If these ICOs would need to spend money out of their pocket then they would definitely make sure that their money is going to spend in the right area. They create bunches of tokens out of no where and paying with these tokens. These tokens are just some points in a websites like membership website, betting websites (i.e: xp etc).

So, why would they care (the ICOs)? If the managers start denying the projects which will pay the users with token and instead start accepting projects paying with established currencies  like BTC/LTC or even ETH, then you will see the improvement of quality of bounty campaigns. You bet.

I don't see how can someone use your account to get the reward, i mean the campaign manager can easily identify the scammer. when he verify the posts he will know that he saw them before so automatically the 2nd person is obviously a scammer.. how can the manager miss this ?

Have you seen how many participants are in some of these bounty campaigns? Some campaigns have literally hundreds of participants. 5-10 posts per participant... you could be looking at thousands of posts every week. Wouldn't be unimaginable for a manager to miss a few. Besides... half of the twitter ones are just "retweets" anyway... so they'll be identical.

I'd have to agree with this. Also, these tokens aren't just imaginary money made up from nothing... They're created from the money taken from the investors. Still, it isn't money directly coming from the ICO/project... they're effectively spending other peoples money. So again, carefactor = 0.

Would be interesting to see what would happen if the bounty participants stopped accepting tokens and started demanding BTC or ETH payments...

Unfortunately, this is not likely to happen because of human nature and the fact that there are places in the world where earning $5/day is a thing... so there will always be people who will take the chance that their "RandomToken" stakes will be worth something after "working so hard for weeks on campaign" Roll Eyes

In my modest opinion, some managers already do this, others simply don't care they are probably paid daily so "who cares"
