Hey there,

I will be honest with you when I answer, I did join Bitcointalk forum initially as a result of Airdrops but later when going through the content I realised rather than a few couple of dollars this forum had so much valuable information that's worth so much to me.

I stopped looking at this forum as a tool merely for money n started to read n research more and found it to be tooo interesting. There are ton of rules that we should follow and hard work is involved to move up.

Your question as I came to answer coz I my self as a newbie needed help n did want to help another out but when I saw your question I felt this profile might not have longevity. It seems to me your just intending to use this profile for bounties and want someone else to hand u down the rules, which are in fact clearly written down by forum moderators. All you need is a simple search.

Before anything read the rules and understand the real purpose of this forum. Work, build on it n then use it to make sum profits. Please don't see the forum just a tool to make profits. It's too valuable for that. Enjoy your journey in Bitcointalk.

1- Better to not use referral links on your posts since it isn't allowed, nor to use it in your signature or any place (well some users add it in their signature campaign ads but i couldn't say it is 100% allowed)
2- Didn't understand the question but you can find the bounties here, take a look on it, make your search/study it before joining https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=238.0
3- I believe it is services discussion (altcoins) https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=198.0
4- Take a look on the sticky topics of every board you want to post on it in addition to the ones on "meta" and particularly this one https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=703657.0

OP, you have the answers now from InvoKing and you should be fine however I have a relevant topic reply which I made few minutes ago in another topic. I am sure this will be a help too as an addition.

Observe-adopt-learn-react

This is what I follow when I want to become a part of something. Since you have just started and you are willing to become a part of the community then my suggestion is to give it a slow start. It is time for you to observe and  adopt with the environment. As the time goes by, you will be learning stuffs. You will understanding what is going on in the community, where are the gaps, how to fill them etc etc. React then.

Remember it's a learning curve. Don't make it too hard for you, take it easy.

I assume by now you have gone through some of the rules and stuffs about the forum, if not then consider reading some of the stickies on the meta and this board, especially...

The manager make a topic there about his bounty and people join what it seems interesting for them.
You can join the translation campaign or an airdrop or signature, twitter, telegram, Facebook campaigns... There is generally a form to follow...take a look on the topics there.

I am a bit confused as to what the moderators actually desire most times, recently a friend was banned from posting messages even though he never posting an off-topic. So what are the things that can make someone get banned, and how does one get response to appeals? My friend is a newbie just like me.

This topic contains the unofficial rules of bitcointalk so read it to understand what is not allowed : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=703657.0
Your friend may be caught doing plagiarism (copying and pasting texts from the Internet as it is in his posts here).
Your friend can create a topic in "meta" (only in meta or else he will be perma banned if he posts elsewhere) and he can ask about the reason for the ban. Generally he will get the answer there.
