you are right even though it was in bold and red I missed it  it does seem to fit the current price better  It's a model, don't try to work towards the actual price. Based on the model you can see how far the market has deviated from the "true" value (assuming the model is a valid representation of reality). |

But his, and the (somewhat similar) time-series based models all face roughly the same question right now: will price pick up rather soon, in support of their models (as it did in the past), or will there be a more fundamental break in the all-time trend. |

Yes, the price over the last 5 years (which it matches quite closely). One political decision by the authorities of the country X or one decision by the large international company Y - all statistical predictions will go to recycle bin. the same for life on planet Earth: an asteroid collision or a large volcanic eruption and life can disappear, and all statistic prediction (and a lot of other thing) go to the recycle bin. more generally, this is the basic problem of inductive reasoning. |

One political decision by the authorities of the country X or one decision by the large international company Y - all statistical predictions will go to recycle bin. in my very limited personal experience. it doesnt matter whether bitcoin news are good or bad. its down to large btc holders' opinion on which opportunity they can successfuly push towards new paradigm. during china peak every little article on coindesk made the price bump by $20. and during summer 2013 and spring 2014 lots of good news didnt change the trend. thing is, that whales are in much more risk now since almost every noob is aware of upcoming pump - everybody's waiting to get rich! the more people expect it the less whales feel like to pump a price not to be left out in the end. the good news, is that we are in the uptrend for now and the new bottom is discovered - market cap not including whales's gambling coins. so right now they need something massive happening in financial realm to cause panic buy - then we're in the game! |

given the increase in size of blockchain, the server on
which I am running statistics is rapidly becoming inadequate.
I have to buy a new server with more disk space, ram and cpu power

yes but my stuff rescan all the blockchain every night... this require a lot of disk i/o, cpu and ram. I cannot do this on a low cost hosting ... |
